Your pissed and I am in excruciating pain. So many clinics have been shut down on me just when when I get established, know the staff, know the doctor, and most importantly know my pharmacists. Then poof I am finding another clinic. So I pay them $375.00 and the nurse says I failed drug screen for Meth. I don't even know know what that looks like. I tell her I take Adderrall for Narcolepsy (which not one other clinic has had a problem with and I have never tested for Meth). I get my meds from Canadian pharmacy $.63 a pill and here they are $8 a pill. They send me home and want documentation.

A week later my husband drives me back with a copy of the original script and they won't accept it said it was too old.

Now 2 weeks later go back give them a money order for $50 for a drug screen and the documentation they asked for. Dr. refuses to see says that I am trying to cover up my Meth use. I never could get the Canadian pharmacy to send me records but went to my Psychiatrist and she was happy to write me a new script for Amphetamine.

Now I am out $425, did not get past front desk that last time after Dr. refused to see me.So I got a little upset and told owner that even if I did not get written that $425 should buy me 5 minutes with doc.

HE LOUDLY YELLED "GET OUT OF MY FUCKING BUSINESS" which surprised the heck out of me.Security made me leave property.

Now I am probably more pissed than you. I have been in pain management now for 3 years and this has never happened. I think the clinic is cutting corners on cost of supplies and purchased the cheapest drug screening kit available which would be my only explanation for what happened. Any thoughts anyone?

I agree with NO DICE's comment. As a pharmacist, it's hard to be compassionate when drug seakers try to hoodoo us everyday. We are constantly on guard because of the lies we hear everyday. We learn in school how to help our customers/patients get the best out of their medication and healthcare, but when we get out of school, we realize many people don't care what we have to say, we are just "in the way" of giving them their drugs. We have laws and ethics we must abide by and many people somehow don't understand that.

You won't find anyone who will fill these prescriptions. This doctor is not practicing legally. He was shut down in Knoxville, then in Nashville. Now he's here, and will be shut down hopefully soon.
I am so glad I read your post. This man accused me of covering up a Meth use habit and I don't know anything about meth. But since you are a pharmacist, I would like your response to my theory; I am a RN of twenty years and 2 1/2 years ago was handed a baby 6 weeks old to raise (grandchild) this is what brought about the pain from an old injury when I was 23 lifting a 630 lb patient.

I feel that they have the cheapest drug screening kits available but my theory is; if for a week before my appointment I had been taking Sudafed and Bronchaid together for a nasty cold or sinus disruption. Could that have been the reason for the positive Meth? I have to ask for them from you, get consulted by you (pharmacist) and it is very legal to do. Would you mind giving me your thoughts?

Thank You in Advance

I am tired of having to leave a copy of my MRI report with pharmacies before they decide I am a legitimate pain management patient. The eye rolling and whispering had me having anxiety attacks before stepping in the pharmacy. I would LOVE to NEVER step foot in another Dr office and pharmacy. I tell myself every 28 days I refuse to do it again but then the physical sickness and the emotional roller coaster starts. I have two small children and a business to run and volunteer at a school. I have taken pain medication for 4 solid years since my car accident and now I am stuck. It is easy to become dependant. If I could wake up and be what I was before the accident...Is there a pill for that?

Good luck with your fight, I'll remember you in my prayers! Cancer patients are the ones these medications were intended for. And you are right, they aren't usually given together. I think the biggest problem with that particular person is that like so many, wants a pill to fix everything. We are writing a very sad chapter in our history right now.
Cancer patients are the best patients I have ever dealt with in all 20 years of nursing. I worked at a cancer center for 12 years in Knox and when I was going through my divorce in 1997, I went to work every morning so my patients could cheer me up. I laughed, cried, and smiled more while working there than anywhere else.

I lost my sister(best friend)to breast cancer Mar 2010 but she "fought like a girl" and passed on with a smile on her face. I will also keep you in my prayers. CANCER SUCKS. I left the cancer center after 12 years within 2 months of my sister's diagnosis in 2006. And I can't go back. I HATE CANCER.

I hope those of you searching for pills to snort or sell never find anyone to give them to you. YOU are the problem today for the ppl who really need meds getting them. Shame, Shame.
I can't believe you BEAT CANCER'S ASS. I am very proud of you. In 12 years Lung cancer was always considered a death sentence. But GOD had different plans for you. CONGRATULATIONS.And about the caring oncologist you had, over the 12 years I worked in a cancer center, I NEVER met a NON-caring doctor. Every one I met believed in a Higher Power and they were just trying to do their part. Help the suffering.

Hello "Youngpharmacist"

Could that have been the reason for the positive Meth?(Rephrased sentence) It is perfectly legal for me to take both of these OTC products, the only difference is now I must ask for them because they are keep only behind the counter, The pharmacist will ask me "Why are you taking this particular medicine?", and then I sign an agreement on using as directed on box, Provide my ID, and then finally pay for them.

But will those two medicines show up a "Meth" on a drug screen? My drug screen showed "Meth" and I have never touched it nor know what it looks like. Any thoughts?
Thank You in Advance

It really depends on where you live but I had a pharmacy before I even went to this clinic, but ended up getting kicked out before getting to see Dr.$425 paid to them and NEVER saw a physician.

I am guessing you are a pharmacist. Any way I could get an answer form you. I have replied to "Youngpharmacist" and the other Pharmacist on this forum but have not received a response.

It is the post regarding the Sudaphed and Bronchaid causing a positive "Meth" on drug screen.

Thanks in Advance

I am a prescriber who works with a lot of anti-drug initiatives. I do not practice chronic pain management outside of a select few patients but I am very familiar with tox screens. On a standard point of care test sudaphedrine containing products can cause a false positive for meth. Before discharging patients the general practice is to send the sample for confirmation- this will determine if a substance is what it screened for (in your case meth) or a metabolite producer. So this answer is yes & no. On point of care screening cold remedies can look like meth but abnormal screens should be followed up with lab confirmation. Lab confirmation will not show a false result.

I went to this Dr. Bridges. I was referred there for my scoliosis and Ms. I was reading these issues and was stuck simply because no other physician could get me in for two more weeks. They were VERY strict and thorough. They were chasing people away trying to cheat the drug screening, they search for track marks. My last office NEVER gave me the first drug test nor did he set appt but every 6mtha. I have NEVER my life been as humiliated as today trying to fill his prescriptions even the gabbapentin I so badly need. Most pharmacists were rude and said we just don't. Two said he is under investigation. Most said they didn't carry one. I have two only and one is gabbapentin the other for qty of 180. I have been hearing dea all day. Drs risk their license if they are doing wrong. We are quickly becoming a Communist country. How can pharmacist say no because dea says? This is why people resort to stupid stuff like making drugs out of household chemical or illegally obtaining drugs. Truly bad drug addicts will die off. Let em and stop treating the truly needy like drug addicts.

you went to a doctor who is not legally practicing. Of course you can't get the prescriptions filled. Why would a pharmacist who goes to school for 6-8 years and pays a small fortune each year to keep state license want to take the risk of losing his/her license? You say our country is becoming communist because of the DEA? So, in your opinion, there should be no laws concerning dispensing or prescribing drugs? We fill prescriptions from legit doctors from legit pain clinics all day long. You were likely treated like a drug addict because you came from a known "traveling pill mill". This "doctor" moves and starts a new practice each time he gets shut down. 95% of the prescriptions that come in from this doctor are patients from Sevierville and around Nashville. The office staff there calls all former patients when they reopen to let them know they're back in business. In the pharmacy industry, we are very aware of how this guy is operating. No way on earth would we touch those prescriptions. People who need the drugs, get the drugs. If you really need the drugs for real pain, go to a real doctor. If you have to wait for an appointment, then wait. If the pain is too unbearable, go to the ER to get a short days supply to hold you until your appointment.

by the way, the "chasing people away" is part of an all-day act because there have been undercover officers going in there at random times and sitting in the waiting room to observe activities.

Not practicing legally? I. Posted accidentally on pillmill o Please u pharmacists read it. The Dr is far more strict than my family doc. He is practicing under a dea number. If he is practicing illegally then why can't dea revoke the number? Shut it down instead of allowing him to make money off people. Desperate people. The average wait is 3 wks for an appt. Most pharmacies can't give an answer to why.
