You are one of the main reasons that pharmacies won't fill from dr bridges. You're from Newport coming to Kingsport to get pain meds. That's one thing the DEA will nail us to the wall for.

big deal. He may an MD but he's practicing illegally. Which is why he was denied licensure for prescribing painkillers in TN.

Thank you for proving the problem with everything we have said. ALL OF HIS INFO STILL SAYS COLORADO!!! Nothing says TN. Pharmacies filling his scripts, are filling ILLEGALLY!!! Enjoy it while it lasts. He is not registered in the state of TN, and he MUST be registered in TN. That is what his problem has been since he got here.

All we hear in the pharmacy is that he is getting that fixed. Looks like you have proven he hasn't....thanks. Still not going to fill scripts for him.

Just so you people know....that is not pharmacies playing GOD, that is pharmacies following the LAW!!

These junkies that get their narcotics from Dr. Feelgood are no better than than welfare cheats and other such malingerers. If the junkies would stop paying the Dr. Feelgood's of the world the true pain patients would have no trouble getting enough pain meds to allow their lives more normally. If the junkies were to get the monkey off their back the amount of narcotics sold in this country would be cut by 75%(my guesstimation) and the crime rate would also go way down. We all know it is common for junkies to also sell narcotics and they get these narcotics the easiest way they can, from Dr. Feelgood. It would also help if the Pharm companies would create a drug that would kill pain without burning as hole in the stomach, destroy the liver or get the patient addicted. I really wonder if the Pharm companies are even doing research into pain mediating drugs without these super bad side effects.

i was told that a pain clinic in Nashville was going to buy them out and take over, with a new DR. from Hawaii. from what i heard they aren't closing anytime soon- matter of fact on my last visit, i asked for an increase and dr. briges said that they were not currently doing increases in quantity, so to me he is obidding by the law....!

Chuck, ty for being respectful in this reply. Also, you seem to believe that when I make a general comment it is directed at you, when it is general in nature.
If you have Medicare why are you paying such large Fees? Typically Medicare should cost about $45-$50 per visit for a specialist if you have an Advantage Plan or a Supplement, the latter of which if you are disabled in Tennessee is not available to you as Tn. does not require the ins companies to offer a Supplemental policy to the disabled unless they have achieved the age of 65 years. So why not use your Medicare?

Because most the these pain clinics are cash only. Keeps them from having to deal with insurance billing and the paperwork that is required.

FYI - I'm under 65, disabled mostly due to the same reasons I see a PM doctor and have a Medicare Advantage plan. I go to a legitimate PM clinic and the Co-Pay is $30.
However, the advantage plan doesn't pay anything towards the most expensive of my meds.

Cpht, that is not true as many Pain Clinics take Medicare and were I you I would not go to any Dr. or office that would not accept my ins. were I you. Most of the PM Clinics that do accept Medicare are Interventional Pain Mangt. in nature and do not provide the oodles of narcotics that the so called pill mills do hand out. I also do not agree with you about "they do not accept Medicare and other ins. to eliminate the paperwork." Most Dr' want all the money they can and also they accept Medicare and other ins. to appear different than the so called "pill mills" appear. They want the DEA and others to realize they are not the same as the pill mills and therefore are under less scrutiny by the law enforcement,, they also do not prescribe the quantities that the cash only places do. They don't want to law enforcement powers looking them over through a proctoscope, these clinics can provide a great benefit to society without providing the large quantities of narcotics that often make it to the street.

I think we would all agree Chuck, that by your description you are not a problem where there are many that are and divert narcotics to the street. I have watched many clinics myself with a full waiting room prior to the Jan. 1, 2012 law being enacted, where young men bring in the girlfriends for an appointment because the boyfriend is too well known and cannot even get an appointment any longer.

I wrote Chuck in my above post, I meant to reply to Newcomer. Why doesn't your Medicare Advantage plan pay anything towards the most expensive of my meds? I don't understand other that the donut hole where coverage is stopped for a times after you reach a certain amount and again is resumed after you reach the startup amount again.

<quoted text>
"What Part D Plans Cover
Each plan has its own list of covered drugs (called a formulary). Many Medicare drug plans place drugs into different "tiers" on their formularies. Drugs in each tier have a different cost.
((some drugs are not covered at all depending on the formulary))

For example, a drug in a lower tier will generally cost you less than a drug in a higher tier. In some cases, if your drug is on a higher tier and your prescriber (your doctor or other health care provider who is legally allowed to write prescriptions) thinks you need that drug instead of a similar drug on a lower tier, you or your prescriber can ask your plan for an exception to get a lower copayment."

Yes, the government is going to start making it harder and harder to get these pills...especially in the quantities that doc bridges writes them for.

But I have to travel so far....I need massive quantities when I get my scripts.

Well... the government believes that folks who are in genuine pain should be able to find a doctor in their area to work with them or alleviating or managing the pain.
