Beware of Wellmont, Holston Valley Medical Center and Dr. John Ehrenfried as they are on public record stating that hospital acquired infection is just part of their "acceptable standards of your health care". They also seem to think a stage five bedsore is acceptable standards of care.

They are heartless when it comes to quality health care for those of us who depend on them, plus their advertising is false and misleading which is perfectly legal in Virginia and Tennessee... so sad. They aren't what they want you to believe they are when it comes to passionate health care for you, your families and friends, I did clinicals at HVMC back when it was THE best care you could ever want. It's so sad to see how far they've fallen when it comes to patient care, it seems they are more concerned about Profit Care than Patient Care.

Isn't it a shame we have the worst access to quality health care in the nation. It's up to us to change that. Our politician's don't care and our health departments don't care. Innocent people shouldn't be dying from lousy care but Profit Care is more important than Patient Care around here. Thank God I have VA health care, they have been really top notch, caring and concerned. Our people deserve better !

And you guys think that it's NOT in the other hospitals around there...I experienced a MRSA surgical wound infection back in the early '90's and it WASN'T from Wellmont~I had outpatient surgery at the same hospital in December of '08 and they were trying to get me out of there as soon as I woke up just to avoid getting an infection. The room had dust bunnies in the corner and looked like it hadn't been cleaned very well. The only reason I went to THAT hospital was because my doctor is tied to them. I have had a couple of surgeries at the Bristol Wellmont and will have to say I was impressed with the exception of the holding area (was open/not private) prior to having surgery.

Healthcare is not about careing for your health, it's a business. Business is about profitt. If they " cured" ya, they wouldnt make as much profit.

Cleanliness cuts into profit. These are non-revenue producers if they do their job ... but restrict them and watch profits soar !

If your doc is part of a group .. it's all about business.

Ya want " health care " .... find a knowledgeable herbalist

Sure it is, but Wellmont says MRSA is just a part of their mission and acceptable standards of health care, they breed and spread it into our communities and thinks it's a okay. SAD !!! They infect patients and then send them back into our communities and call it "quality health care".

I have a friend who they moved and told her it was because of staff infection she had months ago they moved her to a room that was not cleaned and was there days and was never cleaned.

I recently was taken there for a heart related problem. There are too many things that were done badly to tell them all. I hope to never be taken there again. I was taken by the EMS, and they were very good. They did all the work and Wellmont did nothing but let me lie around and forgot me. My wife called the office to tell them what was going on, but they never called back. I have been in the hospital many times in different places but this was the worst by far.

Holston Valley in kingsport i know really sucks . All they think people are doing is trying to get prescription narcotics . When your really hurting they wont give you shit , Screw Holston Valley .!!!

I was a patient there a few weeks ago. They were doing nothing for me. That's ok, my wife had left my cell phone there to call her. After I saw what was going on, I got some great pictures and videos and forwarded them. HA HA, NOW WHAT WELLMONT?

My G'Pops was catheterized Friday and sent home with a prescription for his bladder infection and a raging case of MRSA. Last night he went back to the hospital and was admitted.
