Equipment still moving behind Kmart. I can't see a city the size of kingsport with no collage supporting 24 new screens. Franks will move in the empty spot and the mall probably won't even charge rent. Just fill the space. Dat man, you check on permits?

Tri-Cities Cinemas is a nice theater and its still in Kingsport technically even though its also Blountville. It may be a 10 minute drive but you will save a lot with their prices and friendly staff. Plus is locally owned

I agree, I would rather see someone local get something from this other then a out of state group. Attire can't help they were kicked out, and so far it looks like a bad move. Nothing is moving in the mall yet, and I don't think it will. I hate we have to wait till December. Till then the little one at exit 66 will do great.

tri-cities cinemas is out of date, it needs new screens and movie projectors for today's movies

Tri-Cities Cinemas up in Blountville is the worst theater in this area. I've been their twice and it was horrible I never went back. Especially since my last time in the winter. The seats were uncomfortable the theater was freezing. The movie screens were small and one of the screens had an obvious tare in it and the sound quality was poor as well. It's actually the worst theater I've ever been in. It's also out in the middle of nowhere in a dead shopping center, I can't believe that place is still even in business.

Sadly the skeptic in me is starting to think this way. The truth is Marquee is working on the location behind K-Mart and has plans to open at the end of this year. Last I heard October although it may not open until November or later but from what I understand it's still slated to open before the end of this year. What's going with Frank's though? Nothing, I haven't heard one peep about them or the plans they have for the mall. It's just a coming soon, jeeze what else was suppose to come "soon". Oh yeah what was that slogan the mall use to have "great things coming soon" or something like that. Yeah we never did get that now did we instead half of the mall has left including the theater.

Well, lets get some ideas on what that mall can be changed into or used as. I don't think it's too far gone to raise, but indoor malls are a thin of the past, at least for now. I wonder if you could build apartments inside it and use parts for housing. Keep some of he stores, but the big boxes on the corners housing. Small grocery store, drug store, they already have Wellmont, and so on. Just a thought.

I think malls are far from over. They are a great place to get plenty of shopping and entertainment enjoyment if they are up to date. But prices are higher in malls and many people are out of work. Like any business, if you give people good value for their money, they'll come.

Well I just heard from another source and this one seems to be reliable that Italian Village will be leaving the mall and relocating to downtown Kingsport at the end of this year when their lease expires. This is NOT good news, I don't think people realize it but Italian Village was one of the original anchors and it's been a corner stone of that mall. This is a pretty big and another loss for the mall.

I know you all have heard about these rumors and I have too but this girl that I heard it from didn't even know about this post on Topix and she was saying the exact same thing stated on here. I know it's still a rumor but honestly too much talk is going on with this one for it be nothing. I'm 90% sure this will be Italian Village's last year at the mall.

I look for a IMAX announcement on friday but it will not have anything to do with the mall. Heritage Point. I could be wrong though. pure speculation and i do think it would be better for Franks Ent. if they did locate there.

I agree, that's where it needs to go. I bet, as the mall contracts run out, they will locate there

You seriously think if they think the mall will shut down in 2 years that they wouldnt back out deal of outting in millions for nothing. Glad you are not my financial advisor. If they think its not a good deal and heritage point is better for their company they will back out. Hey who knows maybe im wrong but it only makes sense
