Foodies, you might want to put this festival on your calendar.

http://savannahnow.com/latest-news/2013-05-20... #

In the beginning - 30 years ago - it was called "A Night in Old Savannah." All the local national societies ( i.e, Indian, Mexican, Filipino, American, Greek, etc.) have booths where they serve their national dishes.

I've been several times.

It is quite a nice event. They start preparing these dishes a month or so in advance. One of the local cold storage warehouses donates deep frozen storage space. The food is delicious.

Thousands attend.

Just don't wander away from the festival area unarmed.

Rescue workers are pulling dead kids out of the school struck by a tornado in Oklahoma and all you have to write about is food. You are a sick f*&^er.

And pray tell, a-shole, who as it that posted the link to donate to the Red Cross yesterday?

Hopefully, a tornado will one day perform a rectal evisceration on you, you sorry S.O.B.

Now, for some good news.

CCGA Culinary Arts students will soon be running an actual restaurant. Cool!

Perhaps some entrepreneurial graduates might bring more fine dining options to Camden County in the years to come.

As if college tuition wasn't high enough.

Oh, by the way I was listening t NPR out of Jax the other day (know thine enemies.)

FCCJ now actually offer a course in how to own and operate food trucks.

The course is taught by successful Jax food truck operators.

That's cool. Some of those things serve up great food.

Of course, the DMA would buffalo council into banning them if they showed up downtown.

When they do they do that annual "Taste of Camden" thing, I wonder why they can't do it at Gilman Memorial Park (not really - DMA dogs-in-the-manger.)

Hardee's introduces "shame curtains!"

Do they have them in St. Marys?

I see they had the good sense to make them short enough to observe whether or not all feet remain on the floor.

You need one so you can eat without disturbing the other patrons.
