So, it is your assertion, I take it, that no longer having the ability to utilize one of the most expensive parcels of land in the county, any prospective distribution center would not look at slightly off-the-interstate properties that would way cheaper and absolutely suitable to their needs but would flee the county in search of other unnecessarily expensive locations. I see. Have you thought of serving on the JDA Board of Directors?

Only in your insane world would you be able to read hate in the statements. Camden County gas prices are no longer a bargain for neighboring states. Fact.

HEY! who cares about the tax differential. The price of gas is higher in Camden County than anywhere else. Look at the signs all over the place. I bought gas at exit 6 for 3.45 and drove to downtown Jax and the price was 3.32. What gives? Did the idiots in charge here in CC put a new gas tax on us?

The idiotic Moron cares... but don't waste you time on that old and nearly senile idiot.
To answer your question, "The state excise tax is 7.5 cpg on (gas and diesel), additional 14.3 cpg state sales tax on diesel, 12.1 cpg state sales tax on gasoline. Gas and Diesel Tax rates are rate + local sales tax (varies by county and city cpg taxes which are weighted by population), "Other Taxes" include a 0.5 cpg UST (gasoline and diesel)"
If you use a calculator and spreadsheet you will get an idea why Camden County gas is so high.

That's a very good question. If the taxesn gas in Florida are still higher (and I believe that they are) and gas taxes here have not increased (have they?)and our prices are still higer than Florida's, then something is way wrong.

I'm sure the gas tax differential between Florida and Georgia is what sold them on it. Let me hear it fat man just say, I was wrong because I'm a stupid old man. I do hope you realize the article you referred to was written April 2008. When gas was <2 under Bush. Still on the SPLOST bandwagon?

Moreno Jay wrote: <quoted text> I see. You would take that prime piece of real estate at the first exit out of Florida and convert it from it's optimal use as what it was and replace it with an industry who would have to pay way more money for it's location - a location from which it would derive no benefit whatsoever. That's why David does what he does and you don't. A flagrant display of man love. Ewwwww.

Just returned from Yulee after purchasing cheaper gas.
Still waiting for Davies list of "that's why David does what he does" for 82k plus a year salary.
Of course seeing "I was wrong because I'm a stupid old man " would be nice.
You can do it Jay, I have faith.

Ever wonder who has been setting the price of gas in camden? Wonder no more. The distributor.
