Uh yeah right. Tell that to the 45,000+ people who visit Cumberland Island each year. Then there's the friends and family of Navy personnel. Then there's those passing through on there way south. The real crime here is that the city won't invest any money in promoting tourism.

I was enjoying fish and chips at the Riverside Restaurant last week with the family. The Cumberland Princess returned with a boatload of people. Within 10 minutes all inside and half the outside tables were occupied.

You can take all the money and effort St. Marys pours into tourism and flush it down the toilet. The only entity that brings tourism to downtown is Cumberland Island and that doesn't cost the tax payers a penny.

Try the Friday night fish and chips special at Cracker Barrel for $9.99.

Generous portions of your choice of fried catfish or cod (go for the cod), cole slaw, home fries ( I substitute pinto beans)and breads Get them to bring you BOTH the malt vinegar and the tartar sauce. Great together.

No, not Babwa, Whoopi, and Joy Bahar (she is awful).

We love the view from the Riverside Restaurant. We have found the food to be very good, too. If you wish, you can get a glass of wine or beer with your meal. And lastly, The Riverside is open and airy. I don't feel crowded into a feed barn, like I do at Cracker Barrel.

I have no complaints with the food at Cracker Barrel. But I do like the other things I mentioned that add to the dining experience. And lastly, I like spending my money in St. Marys businesses as much as possible.

I, on the other hand, DO NOT patronize any business that is a member of the Downtown Merchants' Association. They already steal quite enough from the other 99% of us from the city treasury via the conduit of the CVB.

I patronize businesses outside of the piratical downtown area all the time - not because I'm told that I'm obligated to as a civic duty, but because - and only if - they offer good value for my money.

Nice try though, DMA mouthpiece.

My friend Ali and I eat at Riverside with some regularity. Trust me, Riverside gets more than it's share of traffic from the Cumberland Island Ferries.

Yeah, that's because they are from out of town and not part of the other 99% of us who know better.

Jay, how can you not believe that you are part of a very small minority. I have yet to come across anyone who knows who you are, that does not think you are sick with hate.

If you don't believe me, run for office again, any office. You won't get even 10% of the vote if you run again.

Why do you think that the schools won't hire you? You are exactly the kind of person they want. You are certified, you are disabled, you can get around OK without assistance. But your hire would cause a parental riot.

You sad, hateful fool.

He thinks that people follow his lead. Yet, repeatedly it is proven to him that they do not. For example, he went all out to promote the little restaurant "Peas and Carrots". If anyone listened to him, they would have gotten enough "seed" patrons for the "word of mouth multiplier" to kick in and the place would have taken off.

But most people do not want anything to do with him. They do not want to be in a restaurant when he rolls in. He can't see is. He is blinded by his overwhelming narcissism. As a result, Peas and Carrots never had a chance.

You give Moreno way to much credit. Peas and Carrots failed for one and only one reason.

No workable bussiness plan. A lending institution would have given them about two seconds of their time before showing them the door.
