What do you think-will Boehner cave?

NEWPORT NEWS, Va.— President Obama rejected Republican suggestions Tuesday that he should have more power to carry out $85 billion in pending budget cuts and instead urged Congress to work out a better solution that involves raising revenue through taxes on the wealthy.

Don’t touch welfare … create jobs and the welfare cost will automatically go down. Cut all these worthless department projects such as “… why do ants lift heir left leg when peeing” or remember the picture of the guy in the bath tub sipping drinks on taxpayers money …

I think a great place to start cutting would be Moreno's free stuff. All the free money is just making him fatter and fatter, which is unhealthly for Mr Fatass.

The only way to solve a lot of this countries problem would be to impose term limits in the Congress and Senate! But that will NEVER happened because those two venues could no longer produce millionaires if term limits were in place.

Boehner did not cave. And this is just the begining. Even Kings Bay is going to have shrinkage.

Dear Hate-filled, ignorant ass,

I get no "free" stuff.

SSDI - paid into it for 40 years befroe becoming disabled.

Workers' Comp.- my employer paid the insurance premiums on my behalf with money that otherwise would have been due me in wages, as mandated by law.

VA pension benefit - passed by Congress; earned by volunteering and serving during the Vietnam War and after.

Looks like the salaries of Federal employees will be reduce by 20%. My next door neighbors (husband & wife) both work for FLETC. One salaried the other hourly stated he will be reduced 20% and she will be furloughed one day per week. That's a 40% pay reduction in one house!!

Your neighbors are either idiots or liars, take your pick. The FLETC hasn't announced ANY furloughs for ANY employees. In fact, just the opposite.

So when they state on CNN that sequestration will reduce federal employees pay by 20% they're excluding FLETC? Does that exclusion also include Kings Bay? If so, this is great news for our area!!!

Each Federal agency has been given a % of their budget that must be cut as part of the sequester. Because of the different mission sets between agencies, there has been flexibility granted in terms of how each is to reach those savings. The DoD, to include King's Bay, has generally decided to take the cuts in large measure from employee salaries, thus the furlough notices. The FLETC has not, nor are they required to do so, if they can find the savings in other, less personally impactful ways, such as through contract reductions, program elimination, etc. As someone mentioned, that could change down the line, but even if it does, there is no requirement that it be 20% of federal employee salary. Any furlough could be for one day, two days, or 10 days, depending on how much money the agency need to save. The 20% figure is what DoD has decided upon; I am aware of no other Federal agencies that have implemented such dramatic furlough procedures.
