Funny....but I am not a member. How about you report back what they say. I am sure it will be very one sided and not the complete truth either.

I understand how folks feel about noise! I like my peace and quiet as well. However, I love to shoot my firearms! It seems it is getting harder and harder to find places to go shooting.
I guess that ithe only way to have a place to shoot is to save my money and buy enough land to open my own shooting range!

Maybe an indoor private range!

Unfortunately that is the best answer I have to the issue!

Just my humble opinion

Going by the GA Dept of community affairs for an out door rifle range you will need minimum of 20 acres and the range can not be closer than five hundred feet from any residential use property. There are also setback and buffer limits as well.

All of which Oakwell does not meet.

Does the shooting range of the SMPD meet these criteria?

Not sure, but a police range is not the same as a commercial for profit range. Where is it located at?

I would have to say that it does not meet the criteria due to the fact that it is so close to the houses to the east. The county shows that a bank owns those houses, so I am not sure anyone lives there. However it is city owned and I do not know if the city issued a permit for itself or not. Being near the marsh I imagine the noise would travel far.
