We the people of Camden County need to come together and recall Sheriff Smith. He has repeatedly gone against public opinion for his own personal gain. He has misused the trusty program on a daily basis, and even thrown people in jail for political reasons.

Rick, do you have any good candidates in mind to replace Bill Smith? Just wondering. I have not had any complaints with him until these fiascos lately, but it may be time for him to retire and care for his son.

The only one that has come forward thus far is Tommy Gregory. But he looks to be the best candidate by far. He has many, many years of law enforcement knowledge and a very good record. I believe this man will work for all of Camden County. You know me if there was any dirt on this guy I would find it. I do have people telling me all the time that he use to work for Smith so he is no better. I say almost every cop in Southeast Georgia has worked for or with Smith. That does not mean they agree with Smith.

I do support Tommy Gregory, but if another candidate with a better track record comes along I could switch. But I don't think we are going to have any one more qualified than Tommy.

I always wondered why on Christmas Day in the Smith house instead of saying thank you Santa Clause they said thank you TAXPAYERS.

Rick, of you will read the Cisco thread I started on the Kingsland forum, you will see where someone claims that Cisco's son in law, Douglas is going to run. who in the heck is he besides Administrative Assist. Never heard of him and he sure as heck does not need to be sheriff.
Oh, and get this...Cisco will be his campaign manager. I would not vote for anyone remotely connected or kin to Fairly Cisco. What a jerk.

Please do...Jeff dirkes has always been the biggest drug dealer in Camden and rumors have always circulated around Cisco's truck stops. Back in the late seventies, Ciso was arresed for fronting money to bring drugs into Camden, He only served weekends for his sentence, thanks to the then sheriff, Jimmy Middleton. man, I wish i had the connections of this Cisco guy. Just don't get it. Never understood how he was so successful eith his two truck stops either. Makes you wonder , don't it.

Please post that pic of the three amigos for me. I can't believe Jeff Dirkes with Bill Smith. How could anyone come to but one conclusion and bad conclusions at that.

I have never had anything to do with drugs or drug dealers. But the word was always rampant and I didn't know whether to believe them or not, but you got anything you wanted from Dirkes or the guy with body shop on Highway 40 across from Kings Bay Cable. I will not say his name. But this county needs to be cleaned up good. Makes me sick to my stomach and fear for my grandkids having to live in this sicko county.

Isn't the addition being built to the good doctor's house on Cumberland Island for individuals suffering from spinal cord or brain defecit injuries? If I am not mistaken, Smith's son was in an accident and now suffers from these type injuries. Thus the use of trustees to build the addition.

Smith's son was in a terrible car accident and is quadriplegic.

But, your point is well taken. A 2 bedroom house that is handicapped equipped being built on the "property" of your old buddy Dr. Jenkins (who owes you big time for not locking him up) does seem just right for Smith and his son and kinda small for the Shepard Center.

No building permit, no permission from the NPS, use of county boat and deputies, illegal inmate labor, etc. etc. etc.- does seem
a little out of the ordinary for a nationally
renowned agency like the Shepard Center.

Can you connect the dots ? Who has that recall petition ?

I don't think this project is for the Shepard center. You are right it is a little to small. Maybe the Sheriff wants to turn it into a meth lab for his buddy Murrell, who he went and picked up from state prison last week and brought him back to Camden. That would be the right size for one and who's going to stop him. Not anyone in this county.

Thank God we have Bill Smith or otherwise this meth maker would be some other counties problem, and we can't have that.

Rick, everyone is getting tired of your whinning,, Bill will be around for many years to come. Steve Berry is mad because he wanted Bill his old time buddy to help him go against Amanda Wiilaims, and the Sheriff refused to get involved. Now there is some truth. The Sheriff is not perfect, but he is a good hearted man.
