Hint" similarities to Janet Brinko case.
As someone who isn't familiar with the Janet Brinko case, can you please summarize what you mean when you speak of "similarities" between the two? It appears to me that Crews likely violated one or more ethics rules by confronting a subordinate employee, in the workplace, and then engaging her in a political discussion. In so doing, and without benefit of the conversation's context, it is certainly plausible the employee felt she was being pressured by her boss (someone who could have a significant impact on her future employment) to vote for the boss, and so complained to her second-line supervisor. Regrettably, I believe this is an offense for which termination, while not required, is certainly not out of the question. Am I anywhere close, in your opinion?

In both cases, there was a history that preceded the final straw. Did you read the paper?

I did not. I do not get the hard copy and there was nothing in the online edition about the matter, at least as far as I could tell. As before, could you please summarize?

You are doing an awful lot fo assuming considering you openly admit not knowing the facts.

Since the newspaper reported that she was given a verbal and written reprimand in November--long before any election talk, maybe the employee performance discussion was the last straw?

Not so fast. When all of this broke, someone posted that the County Manager or someone representing the county said that there were no former reprimands in her folder. Now they mysteriously appear. Something is rotten in Denmark if you ask me.

What is am suggesting as a possibility is based upon a reasonable reading of what has previously been reported in Jacksonville papers. Why else would her employee have reported her, Matlock? Perhaps you have missed these stories? Yet, apparently there is more to this than I understood, in light of some of the posts on here. Now I am being told it was a longstanding performance issue, and that this situation with her employee was the final straw. Okay, I appreciate the insights. As for you, when you can and if you can, please feel free to jump in and add something constructive to the conversation ... putz.

<quoted text>WRONG. The employee was backing Martin Turner. So you aren't as smart as you think you are and Lewis was looking for and excuse to rid herself of Crews and she had no grounds for termination as Crews just responded to the employee when she was asked about the election.
If that is in fact accurate, it comports with my initial suspicion.
Remember, for years, Martin Turner's sister and no doubt his campaign manager was the campaign manager for Bill Smith.

She was reported to have cruised the parking lot of a Tommy Gregory fundraiser during his first run taking down tag numbers so Bill could have one of his employees run them to identify enemies upon whom he might inflict vengeance. Don't believe all Christian love crap for a moment with that gang.

Again Jay your assumptions are incorrect. Turner's campaign manager is no relation, not from here.

No one was cruising campaign Gregory fundraisers for the initial Smith-Gregory contest as you state was "reported" to you.

Now for some facts, your man Gregory DID force employees to hold signs at the poles during voting, cook at campaign events, and did make it clear to all employees that if they were found supporting the opposition he would terminate their employment.

There is a difference between posting facts, and then your opinion, trying to support it with outright lies. If you dislike Turner, fine, that's your business. But your claim to intimately know about the Turner family is hogwash.

Fact: In an earlier post on another thread you stated Turner's mother was dead. It is his father that has passed. Clearly you post on emotion about things and people you know nothing about.

Excuse me Moreno, I misspelled polls in the above. I don't want you to have an excuse to comment on spelling errors, all the while avoiding the facts. Oops, gotta run......I think I smell garlic coming from the gas hot water heater. Better fix that before I take some flowers to Gary's grave.

Blather on.......

Oh, sure. I'm certain YOU know the "true" story the Crews firing. In light of that, why don't you dazzle us all, then, Einstein, and give us the "inside" story? I mean, since you heard it "straight from the horse's mouth," this should be easy for you and we're all waiting breathlessly for your great insights.

Ultimately, I'm certain you won't, primarily because I know that you can't. You don't know what happened here, and I would trust the Jacksonville newspapers before trusting the word of some jackass on Topic (read: you) any day. Well, except for Jay Moreno, whom I know to be a wealth of knowledge and a paragon of virtue.

Finally, as for your Obama quote, I don't have the slightest idea what that has to do with anything. In light of the topic under discussion, that comment completely lacks context, relevancy, or meaning. Regrettably, it does tend to be the type of simplistic, bizarre comment I would expect from someone whose ability to formulate and communicate a cohesive argument is akin to that of a mentally retarded child. Enjoy your day, Putz!

P.S. I actually did not vote for Obama. Just in case anyone else was wondering ....

Wow, so you won't to take cheap shots when someone has an opposing point of view huh okay. Believe what you want as I could give a rats ass either way. So I'll just say I stand corrected, your aren't just a PUTZ, you are also an uninformed, dimwitted, idiot as well. As I have a mentally handicapped nephew, I would rather be compared to him any day, rather than some lowlife, bottom feeding, pond sucking scum such as yourself. Stick to your all knowing, leftwing, liberal nut jobs for your knowledge seeking, because clearly you aren't smart enough to grasp the truth and all that is going on around you.

Uh oh! It looks like someone got his feelings hurt! Toughen up, sissy. And we are all still waiting for you to tell us exactly what happened "straight from the horse's mouth." Oh, and what is with you and liberals? You keep throwing that out there when it has nothing to do with anything, you complete moron!
