The truth will never be known. In the late 80s while employed on the base,a femle employee cried wolf so many times bout different supervisors, that she reached a point wher no one wanted to work with her, eventually costing her the job.

I worked part time at the station back in the 90/91 time frame. It hadn't yet shifted to a Country format when I worked there. When it did shift to country, I was shown the door. The format used be what I would classify as "White Artist Top-40" with an oldies library of "Classic Rock". The owner at the time was Jim Steele. I do remember Jim Ayers as the Program Director, but he left and the afternoon drive guy, his name I can't remember took over as PD but left a few years after I did. As I was leaving, Randy Horn was coming in the door to do mornings for the new Country Format. It was a little odd, all the music was received via a Satellite feed with local spots plugged in. The station could be without anyone at the station and it usually did nights and on the weekend. The Transmitter could be controlled remotely by telephone line so the requirements to have a human at the facility was no longer required. Suprised to see that they're still playing country after all these years! I would've figured 14 format shifts since then.
