I was promised 1/2 pay and full medical for 20 yrs service. Not the case anymore.
According to congressional assessments, a retired Army colonel with a family currently paying $460 a year for healthcare will pay $2,048. What will you pay under Obama's new proposal.

I got you... It's ridiculous. Congress and the Senate and Obama need to pay more for healthcare. The only ones who think you don't have a right to be upset are the one's we are supporting.

Because they think they should be given everything and when they dont get it they cry and whine. Military vets have a sense of entitlement similiar to that of the welfare class. They should pay a portion of there healthcare costs just like everyone else. Teachers, EMT's, Police, Firefighters, nurses pay a portion of there's, so does everyone else. Get over yourselves we cant afford it anymore. Down size the military and quit fighting all these conflicts under the false banner of protecting freedom. Defend our Shores and nothing more!

Hold on, you bitch about what they and the government agreed to. Who cares what every one else pays? They signed a contract for providing military service they would get certain retirement benefits. Do you deny them that?

They are entitled to their contracted benefits. They earned it. Because you have nothing why should any one else?

You should realize things change---You must think that we must not address Medicare because of promises made in the 60's. You got to admit that paying $170.66 a month for family coverage so way too cheap. Try paying $800 to $1500 hundred a month like normal people. Stop whining and enjoy your "early retirement". You must be a real dick to people that know you.

Im just waiting for one of these self entitled pricks to tell me how they fought for my freedom. Let me save you the time, unless your a WW2 vet.....no you didn't. You fought because of interventionist policies of your govnt. The only exception may have been the beginning of the Afghan war.

Put down the glass of propaganda flavored kool aid and tell me who in the hell has threatened our 1st amendment rights besides the government in which they serve. Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Somalia, and now Mali have absolutely nothing to do with my freedom. Can you not think for yourself you stupid b!tch??

Nope, Ron Paul. I guess your're the idiot who voted for Romney thinking he could actually beat Obama. Easy to call me an idiot, not so easy to dispute what I say. But why would you, all these unecessary wars, conflicts, and nation building justify your paychecks.

Military Vets ARE Entitled!!!... I dont see a vast majority of the population putting their lives on the line to make sure China isn't taking over or Al Queda doesn't make this a godless country. Citizens want someone else to go do the hard work but they want them to just step up and do it for nothing.

The president does a lot less than the lowest military rank yet he is well taken care of.

I dont see a majority of military vets "putting their lives on the line" first off. People especially military ppl seem to think that everyone in the military is on the front lines of combat when the vast majority of them are not. These sub mariners seem to think that they are as equally entitled to the same hero status as a seal, ranger, or foot soldier etc. And I am cognizant of the fact that non combat jobs support the combat mission. However, the reality is that most of them work relatively safe jobs. I agree that what you signed up for is what you should get. However, myself and a lot of other people are tired of listening to you people gripe. You get a fair wage thats accompanied by housing allowance, free medical insurance, tax free shopping, nearly unlimited gratuities and discounts, education benefits, 20 year retirement pensions, home buyers programs, and job prefereces after seperation from the military. Yet you gripe all the time and expect that the rest of us should feel sorry for you and throw rose pedals on the ground for you to walk upon. If its so damn bad join the private sector and see if you can get the same deal with the skills and credentials you possess. Most service members signed up for these jobs with nothing but a HS education and limited job skills, yet its still not enough. This propaganda about fighting for our freedom is a false slogan thats far worn out. Most of the wars we have fought has had nothing to with the freedom of the American Citizens. Im sorry but the actions taken in Iraq, Somalia, Grenada, Kosovo, Vietnam, Korea, Mali, and endless other conflicts are not related to our security and freedom. Afghanistan is no longer about our freedom. Right now the tax payers i.e. the people you work for, are footing the bill to rebuild another nation. I understand that service members dont pick and chose what wars to fight, but this country cannot afford to continue its interventionalist policies. Just like we cant afford to pay every person who does 4 years of service then claims a disabilty for the rest of their life. But what do you people want that you are not getting? I do appreciate the military, however Im tired of hearing your constant whining and clamoring for accolades.
