So glad to hear that our favorite restaurant will live on.

Good luck in Sarasota, Terri. Does the Sarasota restaurant have a name yet?

Well, now, isn't that special. Church Lady, did you catch that name? Sounds like a real family kind of place.

Google it.

Google, Yahoo, and Bing search yielded several beach or near shore restaurant/bars named bearded clam.

It also referred to an Urban dictionary definition....."Jay Moreno's face" is what I got.

Maybe the successful owners of Lucky Dawgs should have consulted Jay Moreno who has never owned a business, successful or otherwise, for a name for their Restaurant and Tiki Bar. Would Chuckie Cheese be OK with you, Julian?

Every time this waste of humanity opens his mouth I can't help but wonder why the former bed pan attendant, shady life insurance salesman, fired dump truck driver, and female subordinate assaulting assistant manager of a Burger King who had a loggerhead shoved in his face while in custody at the county lock-up thinks he has a say in anything.

Is this really happening - It's a name there are a few very famous resturants in California, Hawaii, New York with similar names and our place will be a FAMILY restaurant with a family enviroment, chalk and popsicles for the kids and music all can enjoy - why do people have to be so mean spirited - I would have never blogged on this site until I was told by many of my customers some1 was saying I was closing Lucky Dawgs - which is NOT true my employees are very trust worthy, very loyal and very capable of watching over Lucky Dawgs :)

"why do people have to be so mean spirited" It's not "people" it's just Jay Moreno, the foe of sense and decency and the despised scourge of Topix. Ignore him, please, and all the best in your new venture.

So that you don't have to Google "scourge", Jay, here ya go:
1. A source of widespread dreadful affliction.
2. A means of inflicting severe suffering.

Lucky Dawgs is one of the best resturaunts in the area and I wish them all the best. I really enjoy patronizing the place. Wish other resturants would take notes from them. Great food, good service, good prices. They got it right! I look forward to visiting the new place.

Miss Terri sent us photos of the Bearded Clam in Sarasota. It is absolutely beautiful.

We still go to Lucky Dawgs at least once a week. Although we miss seeing Terri and Wesley, the food is still top notch.

Love those blackened fish tacos.

I was concerned when I learned that Terri and Wesley were going to Sarasota to open a new Restaurant and Tiki Bar. I was happy for them that their success is taking them beyond St. Marys, but I feared that my favorite place to get a good meal and a cold beer would suffer from their absence. This evening, my fears became reality.

Not once in the 2+ years my wife and I have been going to Lucky Dawgs have we been disappointed. Food has always been excellent and the service top notch. Not tonight.

It took nearly 15 minutes from the time our drink order was taken (new waiter) until they were delivered. You could tell that they had been sitting at the tiki bar because they were all wet from the frost on the frozen mugs being melted.

There was an obese young man in street clothes, dirty jeans with his crotch below his knees and minus the usual "Lucky Dawg" shirt, busing tables. Only one face on the wait staff was familiar.

One table got up and walked out because the service was so bad.

Our food was OK, not great, but the atmosphere in Lucky Dawgs has changed, and not for the better.

Our waiter was non existent during the meal. When the "runner" finally delivered our food, I had to go to the counter and ask for silverware.

Lucky Dawgs will soon become Lacky Dawgs if the people left in charge don't get their act together.

I could not agree with you more. Last weekend a group of six of us went there for dinner and drinks at 6:15 pm, the waitress would not let us sit at any of the 8 EMPTY tables because she said that they were all reserved. When we asked when they would be available, she said that she did not know because most of the tables were reserved for people arriving after 7:30 or 8:00. As we looked at almost 30 empty seats that would not be occupied for at least an hour or more, and that we could not use to spend whatever dinner and drinks would have been for six adults ($150 or more?). We decided that the time had come for us to take our hard earned money somewhere else, so we did.

I will spend money on gas and time on travel to go to a place that will treat me and my guests with a bit more gratitude for my business. But who knows? Maybe they just don't need the money?

Bye bye tiki bar, bye bye unlucky dog.

I love lucky dawgs, but I must say that last Sunday, a week ago, when I visited for dinner with 4 friends, I was not happy with the service. We sat for almost 45 minutes waiting for our waitress to take our food order after getting drinks. It wasn't that busy really. The food was as good as I expected but me and my party left there thinking something was amiss. I really hope Terry and Wesley take note of these comments. I will continue to go there but am watching to see how they make the transformation in management.
