Be honest, Lib Bitch. You want ALL guns banned. You see no legitimate use for ANY guns, except perhaps for IRS agents taking people's hard earned money at the point of a gun to redistribute to your fellow enemies of America.
Hello boys, I'm baaaAAAAaack. So let me get this straight Limpy. First, she's a "lib bitch" because she disagrees with your gun-loving mindset. Second, you read into the comment that she wants ALL guns banned despite the thread has limited the type of weapons to assault rifles (sorry "tactical weapons", thanks Rambo)and last you propose that she would have IRS agents only owning weapons in order to take people's "hard earned money" and "redistribute" same to the "enemies of America." Whew, that's fascinating! Maybe you should have your own radio talk show so you could just regurgitate Rush Limbaugh's paranoid and nonsensical ramblings. Why not rather than attack this young lady for exercising for Freedom of Speech, you propose some sort of original ideas in the face of this horrific and unspeakable event. And I don't mean arming the teachers, for God sake.

Okay, how about forced sterilzation for every Liberal on Earth and mandatory open carry outside of the home for all conservative American patriots? Is that original enough for you, Pinketta?

Still not one good reason for owning an assault rifle. You sound like you are living on the edge.

I see. You are an American patriot, yet you hate the majority of its people. In case you missed it, Obama won--twice. Meaning, Limpy, that more people voted for him than the other guy, twice. And by the way, I'm a life-long Republican.I'm just sick and damn tired of the gun violence and the killing. So take a look at the photos of those 20 children, then take a look at your precious .223 Bushmaster and state unequivocally on your next post, which is more important. Oh wait, who am I kidding? I already know the answer.

OK George, let's try this one time. We arm the principals (not principles, there is a difference)and we train them to fire at will when an assailant traipses in to the school. We then arm the teachers and train them to take out any and all perceived threats. Hell, why stop there? Let's arm the kids and teach them little buggers how to bust caps! You know, readin', ritin' and rounds! I definitely think that would have worked on this occasion. Probably have a little collateral damage in other spots, but hey, they're just kids! George, do your family a favor. Go back to the physician who attempted your lobotomy and tell him it failed. You make as valid a point as Moreno.

Take a look at photos of all the families and victims of drunk driving accidents that caused injuries or death. Then take a look at your vehicle or any alcohol you have in your fridge. You dont get it do you Gun Control will not work. Jay's rifle caused no more harm than your car or your booze(if you drink). If making something illegal stopped crime we would not have drunk drivers, drug users/dealers, or sex offenders. According to your logic we should make computers illegal because child molestors use them to exploit children. We need to focus on the causation of crime not the tools used. And we need to arm ourselves and invest in School Resource Officers.

DUI related deaths are indeed a national problem. The difference is that the DUI driver does not intend the resulting trauma inflicted in his/her poor decision. There are already laws dealing with repeat offenders, but once they imbibe they lose all rational thought. I prosecuted many of them in my time. Most assault/tactical weapons will never be used in the commission of a crime. In the case of tactical weapons the deranged individual intends to inflict harm and death. The tactical weapon is more capable of inflicting a much higher body count. It only makes sense. Of course the resource officers are a good idea and we need to do more at psychiatric intervention.

Dont know where you were raised but a shotgun loaded with buckshot will kill just as many people as an "assault weapon" and before you say it they reload pretty quickly and take less skill to operate

Your the one that is being stupid. All it would have taken was one armed person protecting the children, it could have been as simple as a security gaurd at the front entrance. Israel does it and only had 8 casualtys last year. We don't even have a violense problem compared to their society. Swiss 1 out of 2 citizens has at least 1 firearm, lowest crime rate in the world. Approx 2 million acts of violence prevented by armed citizens in the US every year. Approx 250,000 killed every year due to gun violense. Over 75% are the criminals trying to perpretate the violense, drug and gang related and domestic crime not counting susicides. I can't Spell and you can't rationalize. Since you can't think anyhow don't worry about the lobotomy.

If you truly feel that one more law would have prevented the tragedy in Connecticut, please consider this:
First, Connecticut law requires a person be over 21 to possess a handgun. Lanza was 20.
Second, Connecticut requires a permit to carry a pistol on one’s person, a permit Lanza did not have.
Third, it is unlawful in Connecticut to possess a firearm on public or private elementary or secondary school property, a statute Lanza clearly ignored.
Fourth, with details on the rifle still sketchy, it’s possible Lanza may have violated a Connecticut law banning possession of “assault weapons.”

Fifth, Lanza committed theft because Lanza did not own any of the firearms in question, but rather stole them.
Sixth, breaking and entering – since CBS New York now reports it likely Lanza broke into the school through a window to circumvent a locked-door and intercom security system.
Seven, murder - illegal in all 50 states.
Many, including legislators, have been swift to suggest the answers lie in even more laws. Lanza, clearly had no regard for any existing law in committing his crimes since Connecticut has some of the toughest gun laws in the nation. Don't be lulled into false security by knee-jerk reactions, political promises, and more laws. Criminals rarely care about laws anyhow.

There you go Jay with you unusual ability to not understand simple english. He said subsidized housing, not section 8. You do live in subsidized housing because a portion of it was payed for by the tax payer. You also drive a subsidized vehicle, a portion payed for by the tax payer. So go ahead a talk all you want about your hatred of liberals and their welth distibution, you seem to have a wealth of knowledge to pull from.

Home defense from who. The government, if you think that, you are in need of a doctor.
Why stop at assault rifles, lets get everyone a rocket launcher, grenades, some tnt, a tank, maybe their own personal drone.
Do you have cameras outside your mobile home.
The only people who fear from home invasions are usually criminals.

In regards to the .223, this is not a military round, his is the civilian verison, with less stopping power, the 5.56 NATO round used in todays military is used for military purposes. We can come to a solution such as limiting the magaine capacity. We need a better education on weapons. On the same day as Sandy Hook, in China,a man walked into a school and committed the same thing with a knife. Um guess we will have a ban on knives now, how I am going to butter my toast or cut my steak.

In China some people got cut, nobody was killed, and the slasher was mentally ill.

You do make a lot of sense BUT for one important point. IF assault rifles and oversize magazines has still been illegal, the weapon and ammunition used in the massacre would not have been readily available in the shooter's house for him to steal. Would that have broken the cycle and prevented the tragedy? We do not and will never know. Would the unavailability of the assault rifle have saved even one of the children's lives? Almost certainly. There are no EASY answers but please don't dismiss anyone's ideas. The threat to our children HAS to stop. I don't know how.
