Cash for Clunkers thread is a perfect example of how much it cost for the government to get involved in anything.

The cost of each of the Clunker's transaction cost the taxpayers $24,000. How's that for efficiency?

Yep, I do. Unless it's an emergency situation: then I go into debt like millions of others even though I pay health insurance (that nasty deductible issue). Enough of this. Enjoy your anger, your hopes that this democratically-elected adminstration fails and your misinformation.
"democratically elected administration?" Where were you when hundreds of people were allowed to register and vote by Acorn. This election was stolen through fraud. I can't find one person who will admit to voting for it. By the way, I'm not angry, I'm MAD!

I have no problem with health care reform and I will be the first in line to sign up as soon as Pelosi and the rest of the members of congress are put on the same plan as the rest of us and their cushy retirement plan is dropped and they are required to participate in the same Social Security program that the rest of us do.

If you worked all your life and someone told you, too bad on your retirement pan, that is what you would be saying to those civil servants that are not congressional. So there is food for thought.

You know what, I am being told that everyday. Since you retired you are no doubt drawing your social security. But what about the rest of us who haven't reached 62/65 yet. We are being told there won't be any left for us to draw. So don't give me that song and dance. You can keep suporting those knuckleheads in Washington if you want, personally I have had enough and my votes with reflect as much next election.

OK, here is the link. The bill does not have a number as yet. It is a PDF file and is 1990 pages long. I think the democrats are going to try and bring it to the floor tomorrow but probably won't get there till Monday. Study real hard this weekend so you will know what we will have instead of our current system.

Wonder how the federal employees vote on this stuff. You know every 4 yrs. If enough people vote like you suggest, we will have another welfare group.

If I keep getting every dime I make taken away to support some sorry POS who doesn't want to get off their backsides and help themselves, then you're absolutely right. The Democrats are going to put most of the middle class in the poor house.

Pelosi said today that bill will come in under 900 billion and will not add to the deficit. Who is the magician? When I see those numbers on paper I might change my mind.

Anna, you asked the question so here is the answer.
Here is the website:
http://www.health.gov.on.ca/transformation/wa...
If you don't believe me go check it out. For those of you who trust me here is what anna will find.
This the wait times for surgeries at Toronto East General Hospital, Toronto Ontario Canada except the angiography was at Thunder Bay hospital.
Hosp wait time Provincal wait time
General Surgery 181 days 99 days
breast cancer 26 days 36
colon cancer 34 days 44 days
lung cancer 26 days 43 days
prostate cancer 44 days 77 days
heart by-pass 49 days
MRI screen 89 days 105 days
CT scan 58 days 49
Those are their figures and as bad as they are they would be even worse if they didn't skew their counting process. As I understand it if there are 10 people on a waiting list and 9 have been treated then all 10 are counted as having been treated. Sound screwy to me but its on the website so you figure it out.
Oh, one other thing anna. According to my Funk and Wagner the definition of propaganda is "spreading lies." Since I was kind enough to back my assertions up with hard evidence and a website would you do the same by pointing out what lies Beck has told and where we can get the truth?
Come on Redneck, you don't expect her to read facts do you?

"Facts",another word she might want to look up.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on her list of Beck lies. They are so threatened by the guy.lol That includes the worst president ever! All the networks and papers they have and yet such hatred and fear of Fox. Too funny!

I guess the saying "The truth hurts" fits well here. If it's not fear why all the carrying on about one man and one network.

Now here is a fact for them.

Wallace has openly admitted he lies when it suits his purposes.

During the controversy over tobacco whistleblower Jeffrey Wigand, Wallace appeared on the "Charlie Rose" program with colleague Morley Safer. Wallace was asked point blank by Rose if he or "60 Minutes" had paid Wigand for his cooperation. Wallace denied doing so.

Later, after documents in a legal case showed that "60 Minutes" and Wallace had indeed paid Wigand $13,000 as a consultant, Wallace admitted he had lied on Rose's program.

If I can keep my current insurance, I guess I can assume I will continue paying for it.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Libra

If someone owes you money and you're beginning to think that you'll never get it back, this is an excellent day to chase them up. They may not cave in straightaway but at least you'll have had your say and done what you can. Watch out for a tendency to lose your temper, because although this could be quite dramatic if you're usually the soul of equanimity it could work against you if you become aggressive or unpleasant.
