Just like a few people who work in convenience stores are bad, just like a few people who work in the navy are bad, just like a few people who breathe are bad.

I've known Chief Griffis for years. When he worked for CCSO Under Smith he maintained his integrity and worked hard despite the environment there because he loves the work. He is not a bafoon arrogant ass like you normally get around here. He seems very genuine and caring about the community and people despite what side you are on and he is very skilled and knowledgable about police work. He would make a fantastic sheriff and could balance well I think. I doubt he runs though.

Chief Griffis would make a great Sheriff if he wanted to run. BFT sure won't win!

There are enough officers on duty at one time to maintain all zones of Kingsland as well as maintain their 3.5 miles of interstate 95. They are simply maintaining what is theirs instead of letting CASO maintain it for them. More power to em !

That is because most of the departments manpower is made up of former deputy sheriffs that either would not work for Tommy or Tommy thought the officers would be better off somewhere else and they are. It makes for a well ran police department. Griffis hardly has any employee issues. Imagine That! If Tommy thinks they were not good Deputies but are great officers under Griffis then this alone proves the lack of leadership at Camden County S.O.

I can see both sides of this issue.
Why not a high-tech solution?
How about microphones placed at all four corners of the car's roof and one in the middle over the door post on each side?
With speakers in the car, the officer could remain cool/warm and still hear what's going on outside.
When getting out of the car during a stop, a recorder hooked to the same microphones could start recording everything while the officer was out of the car.
BTW, they are already using anadvanced version of my idea in Afghanistan. Convoys have MRAPS equiped with microphones all around the exterior of the vehicle. When someone opens fire on the convoy, the microphones, via a computer, pin point exactly the compass heading from which the shot came. You could adapt that to police cars so that thye not only hear wehats going on - with the windows up - but can tell at a glance at a dash mounted display where the noise that warrants alarm/investigation came from.

might be a good idea if they had cars to put them in.

Ok so the Chief thinks that ac is one of the worst things to happen to law enforcement? Well I see his point and True Blue Lions
point as well. But maybe Griffis should lead by example and have the ac removed from his office. That way he wouldn't spend as much time there. He could spend more time interacting with the community and his officers. Still won't be nearly as bad as riding without ac in a polyester uniform wearing a protective vest. I'm not trying to take a shot at Griffis I'm only saying what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
good comment here, but rest of this thread is stupid.
