Tommy Gregory fires 10 more people today

Well he fires 10 more people today and tells them he has to cut people, but he hires back the guy who got in trouble for having a badge and gun drunk in the bar within the last week. He hires the daughter of his IT guru to run the sex offender program. Hey Brian, you should have never sold your soul to the devil. One more year of Job security isnt worth a shit. Ok Rick and Jay come on here and defend this moronic decision. Lawsuits are going to come out of the wood work based on this decision. Hey Sheriff, how do you show your face in public? and how do you sleep at night running these people in the ground, knowing there are no jobs out there with this economy. I know at least 4 out of the 10 names who were fired and are good deputies who did not get involved in your political nighmare you have created. Good luck in 2012, you wont be able to buy a friend or job. Maybe rick can get you a job sweeping floors or Jay can pay you to push him around walmart.

Can anyone explain how Sheriff Gregory fired so many officers but he just re-hired Monday a person that he has already fired once. Thats it he re-hired McKiney the Deputy that was in a St.Marys bar drinking with a departmental badge and gun on in civilian clothes. He also has a non-certified person in a Deputy position with sex offenders yet fires deputies perfectly capable of holding the position and they are more qualified than she is. What are you thinkin you moron of a Sheriff.

How can this ego maniac get away with his selective view on why and who should be hired and fired. Jay you always speak of Smith and his Thuggies well I think we all see who became the biggest Thuggie Smith ever employed. The now Sheriff Tommy Gregory. This is prime time Thuggism, its not a budget or cutting cost, because you can't continue to hire new people onboard and get ride of the "old ones". This is a very nasty man.

Bill Smith fired eleven people at once during his last term as Sheriff. Tommy Gregory hired almost all of them back when he took office, and ended up having to fire all of them plus over 100 more. The morale at the S.O. is at the bottom, and it affects job performance and public service adversely. Anyone know who got canned today?

Whenever you use my name please spell it correctly with a Y not an I. Regarding the choice the Sheriff made to hire my daughter, it may be important to state the facts. First, she was not hired to perform the Sex Offender Registration. She was hired due to her education which includes a Master Degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University with a GPA of 3.75. Second, the job in question requires a POST certification per the Sheriff's requirements. Lastly, Ms. Cagle must certify to maintain the positon of Evidence Technician and Sex Offender Registration. While any certified deputy or any employee could potentially perform these duties it should be noted the position was opened to all curreent employees. None who applied possessed both a POST certification and a Masters degree. The previous deputy who filled the position held both a Masters Degree and a POST certification. The Sheriff's decision to keep the position at the skill and education level as previously held is quite understandable. Why would he choose to lessen the requirements? Once Ms. Cagle (my daughter) completes her POST certification she will meet what the Sheriff's requirements are for this position. Should she not complete the POST certification she will not be retained in her current job. Meanwhile, she performs her job responsibilities without flaw.

If you want to kick me have at it. I am confident she will be an asset wherever she works and for whomever she works. The citizens of Camden County can be proud of the talents, education, and work ethic she brings to the Sheriff's Office.

you can have all the school degrees and training in the whole wide world, but if you don't have the wisdom to apply it, you need to go, BFOTT will be leaving for damn sure in 2012, the voters in this county has had enough of his BS.

So you are saying because she has a Masters degree tommy hired her...well I be damn! I know some one that has a masters degree, is post cert, has 20 years in law enforcement, and tommy fired them...for NO REASON!! Hell they use to work in same office and dept under Sheriff Smith. So tell me please...are u saying you're daughter is better then this person...I don't think so

As an employee to the Sheriff, you shouldn't be on here adding fuel to the fire. All it does is continue to help stir the pot! Let it lie...don't add anymore negativity to the Sheriff's Office. I understand you are only trying to defend your child, but truth be known by commenting you create more harm. Let it be and this too shall pass. I'm sorry some have chosen you to be a recent target.

How do you EX COPS think Gregory can keep all these employees on the payroll?

When he took office he had a budget just under 6 mill. Today it is closer to 3 mill. that is 5 mill smaller than what Smith had.

If one of you can tell me how Gregory is suppose to keep all these and stay within budget, than I will agree totally with you. But you can cut a man budget in half, and expect everyone to keep their job.

A Deputy Patrol position is NOT administrative.

A Deputy Court Security Officer is NOT administrative.

A Corrections Officer is NOT administrative.

Captain of Criminal Investigations Division is NOT administrative.

Why didn't the Sheriff go to the Commissioners and stand up for his department and his people, instead of "laying off" ten people? He has fired or laid off enough people since he took office. Looks like the thrill would be gone by now.

I can eliminate three people answering th phones that are not certified and all they do is go to lunch with the Sheriff and have the multi thousand automated phone system he bought pay for itself and keep three more deputies on payroll. Tommy don't need Lori Whitlow because he hired William Terell and Larry Bruce, and he also has a Chief Deputy that don't really have any job duties. Lori tells tham all what to do just ask her and the Sheriff or any of the Deputy's. Stop talking because you don't work there and you know nothing. Thaks IT guy for your input but she dose not meet any qualifications for the job. It is proven by the Sheriff himself. You can have all the College Degrees to hang on the wall you wish but if you don't have the heart or desire to be a good cop then it will never happen and then the community is screwed again and so is she.

I will tell you why...because they won't him out of there! The board has to pay for services PERIOD!! They have to give who ever is Sheriff what it takes to run the office. Now would you give him the money when you have all these law suits coming at you...I DON'T THINK SO!

I bet everyone a dollar to a donut that Rick Rogers was the kid that got beaten up in school and had his lunch money taken everyday. I would also bet you that he was the kid that when the teacher left the room that once she returned he would tell on them for talking while the teacher was out of the room. I would also bet you that his parents have told him never to come back the the home State or they would denounce him as a son. These types of things is why our lives will be forever ruined by a tick turd like Rick Rogers.
