He has applied and is going to be hired at the CCSO. It was announced last night at the commisioners meeting.

Wouldn't surprise me if Jim did that. He sure hasn't done what he said so far! I understand how the budget works and how he hasn't fired anyone...just dont think he cares now that he has the power like Tommy we will see. I hope im wrong.

Bullshiz. The CC has no idea who is hired and fired at the SO. The SO is totally seperate from Human Resourses with the county.

Guess that put an end to that rumor.

Why it is true that the cc cannot control who the Sheriff hires, the hr depart is part of the sheriffs office. The Sheriff doesn't have to follow county polices, but he can't pick and chose either. Now I spoke with Jim yesterday and it is true...ALL rumors!

No, it is not. That is to say that county HR is NOT part of the sheriff's office. Your sentence is so poorly constructed that it is hard to tell whether or not that is what you meant.

In fact, all of your sentences are written as if English were not your first language. They are highly ambiguous and uncommunicative.

The sheriff is a constitutional officer answerable only to the governor in-between elections. He can hire/fire anyone he wants to.

You are right jay he only answers to the gov. However, a employee of ANY county department is under the HR dept! If you get hurt, HR dept, if you are discriminated against, HR dept, if you are laid off HR dept. Now the HR dept doesnt act directly to the SO. Because the S.O tries to handle its own, but the dept is their for any county employee. I know this because of something going on in another county, person went thru the chain of command and nothing happened, went to HR dept and county manager, got their problem resolved. I dont claim to know everything, however I do know this.

Yes, Mike Fender does handle their payroll and Staci Bowick handles their health care because otherwise, the county would have to provide funds for duplicate positions within the sheriffs.
office.

I'm fairly certain other financial and HR matters are handled in-house at CCSO (i.e., purchasing and hire/fire decisions.) Perhaps the budget/purchasing function is what Tommy is coming back to do, if the story is true.

If so, it speaks volumes about Jim and Tommy both.

Was told today that no way in hell was Tommy gonna have a job at the sheriffs office. Tommy left that budget in a mess. Do you want to know why he said during his campaign that he was under his budget...because he didnt put in the budget for sicktime, vacation time, or overtime! Thats why he was bragging that he was unxer the budget! Dont believe me,call and ask Sheriff proctor he will tell you, or ask mike fenderhe will also tell you. Jim might have to furlow days in the next month or so because Tommy didn't leave enough to pay the people with till July 1 2013, thats when the budget comes out!

Lets face it- BfT has no where to go. He is a digraced former Sheriff, who betrayed almost everbody who trusted him. Him pissed away his savings and did nothing but spend money on things he wanted and didn't need. Now we should feel bad for him?? F him. He ruined how many families? Fired how many people? Where is rick and jay to raise money to help his failing family out now? You see now FAT TOMMY- What you dish out might bite your butt later. BFT thought that all those people would stick by him in the tough times, they have left you broke and most od them betrayed you too. Good luck.

Why is this news, even for Topix? The people of Camden voted him out...right? So then who cares if he's filed for bankruptcy? His family and I have mutual friends and from what I understand he and his wife are doing fine, just trying to live their life privately. Many people feel he wronged them in the county, I get that. His penalty was losing the election...sooooooo move on people, nothing to see here!

Why is it news?Maybe because when he ran the first time,a big issue for him was Bill firing a dozen or so employees.Tommy won and in his 4 years in office fired over 100 employees. Not only did he fire them,he sought to take their certifications from them and made calls to prospective employers to prevent them from future employment.Yeah,I can see why Tommy is despised, you can't?

Yes, that is blackballing, and he sounds very vindictive.

Au contraire. It sounds like a highly responsible sheriff who was trying to prevent his fired-for-cause cops from being recycled when perhaps they should not. Chiefs and sheriffs who do NOT shoulder that responsibility are how bad cops wear a badge long enough to injure and kill.

Gregory a disgraced sheriff? Hardly.

My sources tell me that come April, he will be a member of the CCSO. See, even Jim realizes he is an asset and can put away petty differences for the good of the county. I for one am proud Jim is our Sheriff.
