For decades this county has elected and reelected good old boys and girls who were never qualified to hold the office they served.
We have elected officials removed from office that should be doing jail time.
We have a county commision that continues to pay $94,498.56 to the JDA Executive Director who has produced nothing for years except colorful pipe dreams.
Transparency not slander is whats required of these people so we can elect the most qualified person and get our county finally moving forward.
In Camden, as much as any place on Earth, who a candidate is kin to (or not) is always germane to their suitability for office. All native candidates should come in for the strictist scrutiny in that regard.

Gratuitous slander of the candidate or his/her relatives is never called for but remember, the truth is an absolute defense against both libel and slander.

Dispositive revelation is aboslutely appropriate and vitally necessary to perform voter due dilligence.

We have good people running for the job but not qualified. It is an office that requires a knowledge of Georgia law and experience. We don't need on the job training. Sweat has the experience and education.

<quoted text>In my opinion you don't have to slander people to throw your support behind someone. Debbie is a good person and if we all were held responsible for what people thought our relatives were or what they did, we would all be hung from the old oak tree in the town square. As for the Pickerins being crooks, I would stand behind Mr. Sam any day. He is a man of the utmost integrity and FYI, he isn't running in this election. I also think that Beau is a good candidate but he too has a few things going against him as do all of us. So stop with the nasty politics and lets look objectively at each of the individuals and their respective merits.
Not trying to slander anyone. I like Debbie all right, but I want to see Martin Gillette as far removed from this office as humanely possible. As far as the crooks go, yes, I know what I am talking about, and yes, they are crooks. Anybody that would take advantage of people the way that they have, is crooked. I am sorry if I offended you. I don't have a dog in this hunt, and was only stating matters as of an educated opinion. Take it for what it's worth, or leave it. Not trying to play nasty politics here, but a lot of people, or sheeple, do not have a clue what is going on in this county. just sayin.

Because MT might know that the Judicial Branch isn't part of a tree.

Why because he is married to the Chief Clerk of Court and that makes him qualified for the job. NOT!!!

Just because someone is well educated does not mean that they would be the best person for the job.
Also not all locals are crooks.
A professor (a PHD) at Valdosta State once told me that the meaning of PHD was Piled Higher and Deeper.
I'm sure you're right. The only reason you don't see folks represented by plumbers in capital cases is because lawyers are cheaper.

You do crack me up at times.
Having said that if a license wasn't required to practice law in this county it would be "Show Time" down at the old court house.

When I sat for my electrical license, the guy next to me was a GA Tech Electrical engineering grad who stated that it was his third time taking the test. I took the test once, having only a one year certificate. So just because one may have better training does not always make them better.

The point is you are probaly very well versed in electrical code but probably not so in judicial code.

Translation: He has found Jesus, beat demon rum, and now broadcasts on the Lighthouse so he is the righteous candidate for all you Bible thumpers, irrespsective of his total and utter lack of appropriate education or experience. He's an air conditioning technician and a high school graduate(I think)with strong ties to Bill Smith. But then Judge Gillette climbed out of a wrecker and onto the bench.

To bad Ralph Cramden and Ed Norton are not in the candidate pool. They are certainly every bit as qualified (except for being dead.)

Whoa! I almost missed that one. Is that right? Clerk of Superior Court?

Some enterprising producer needs to do a remake of "Dynasty" as a reality show right here in Camden.

Well if I was running for probate judge you would have a point. My original point was and remains that the most educated person is not always the best for the job. That was a reply to Jay and his endorsement of Rich Gamble. Now he may be the best but he also may not be.

I concur 100%! I'm supporting Rich Gamble for that very reason. We need order. We need to get our house in order, in order to build a firm foundation for future prosperous growth.
Rich Gamble is the example of honesty and integrity we need in the nucleus position of this County. We are in desperate need of honesty!
I know many of the other candidates. I'm in no way saying they're bad people or aren't qualified to do the job. I'm simply saying at this time, during this season, Rich Gamble is the best choice.
Bingo!!! I think I'll endorse that.
