Wow Jay, tell me how you really feel. I could almost feel the rabid spittle spraying my face as I read your diatribe.
Please know that I am praying for you.

If I believed anyone was out there to hear your silly-assed prayers, I would be concerned about what you were praying for. I don't, ergo I'm not.

Yes, as I've said before we should change state law so that no one can ever again serve as a judge of any kind in Georgia without being a member of the bar in good standing.
I would like to have 2 or more lawyers to choose from but if Swaet is the only one running, unless he is found with a live boy or a dead girl before the election ( and the authorities do not withhold that info until after the election, as seems to be the Camden custom)then I willl have to go with Sweat by virtue of his being the only attorney in the race.
DEBBIE can read the law book just like Bo, I feel he would be biased......maybe a referral or help a buddy out type of situation......DEBBIE MIDDLETON for PROBATE JUDGE.......lawyers are crooked or they wouldn't be needed

Shirley Wise took the fall for Martin Gillette. Now Glenda Foddrell is cleaning up the paper trail. Debbie Middleton wants to keep the family secrets, secret.

Beau Sweat has agreed to the same terms. He was totally out to lunch. He showed he has no idea and was not concerned enough to do any research of the position. He just seems very lazy.

Allison Crews has been passed over for 25 years because she does not possess management skills. She did appear knowledgeable.

Turner has the best follower participation and presence BUT it's a real concern to me to have him as Probate Judge when his sister-in-law is Clerk of Superior Court. That could produce devastation if they're indeed from the same immediate family.

Shavon Gibbs came to town with the military. She answered the questions better than all the other candidates. But I don't believe she has ever managed people or prepared a budget.

Rich Gamble was not very well versed on many questions. He rambled on about things he's passionate about. Has more combined education than the entire slate.

Well I intended to vote for Ms. Middleton until I heard her answers at the debate. Glenda Foddrell should have never been hired in that office period and Martin was told as much by the state. She has worked at almost every bank in the county. One of which was closed down by the state. The fact that Middleton thinks that Foddrell is qualified to be there and that every thing is hunky dory now is a problem for me. As for Turner, he has a nephew that works at CCSO and his sister in law as Clerk of Court. Gamble is clearly a narcissist and so full of himself. The fact that Crews has worked as long as she has in Magistrate office and isn't nothing more than a pencil pusher speaks volumes. She is definitely not qualified for this job. That leaves me Bo Sweat and Ms. Gibbs.

“Shavon Gibbs came to town with the military. She answered the questions better than all the other candidates. But I don't believe she has ever managed people or prepared a budget.”

From Ms. Gibbs’ website:

As Court Administrator, Gibbs has already served to improve Camden County in the Court. During her time she has:
• Implemented the move of the court offices away from the Police Department to a more neutral location inside City Hall.
• Implemented a diversion program for criminal defendants.
• Creating policies and procedures to help the court go paperless and save money.
• Prepared the yearly budget, then monitored and approved expenditures.
• Overseen the daily operation of the court.
• Coordinated with internal and external agencies, ensuring that the judicial process is working effectively and optimally.
• Run criminal and driver histories in preparation for court.

More from Ms. Gibbs' website:

Shavon Gibbs is an independent-minded professional with the morals, courage, and fortitude to enforce the law as written. As Probate Judge she will refuse to allow any outside influences to affect her judgement. Gibbs is dedicated to restoring integrity and transparency to the Camden County Probate Court.

She began her public service working for the city as a Customer Service Representative, and in a short period of time she worked her way up to the Administrative Assistant of Planning and Building department. She currently holds the position of Court Administrator. She possesses the knowledge and the integrity to uphold the judicial laws, rules, and regulations. From day one, Shavon will be amply prepared to carry out the duties and responsibilities as Camden County’s Probate Judge, and be glad to do so.

I'm looking forward to checking out Ms. Gibbs at the next forum. She's most assuredly not a Camden G.O.B. That's a good start.

I'm so pleased to read of your tentative support for Ms. Gibbs Jay! I hope it doesn't burst your bubble to learn that she is a Christian. As a matter of fact, with the exception of Debbie each candidate made reference to their church or being blessed by God in their written statements.
Maybe you'll have to sit this election out, or perhaps nominate yourself as a write in?

Correction, Mr. Gamble did not make any religious declaration in his statement, but I believe when he ran against Bill Smith he did. And Debbie may be a Christian as well, just didn't mention it.

Interesting thoughts. Also about the enforcement term use earlier. What laws can she enforce?

I don't know whether she is or not. More importantly, I really don't care to know, much less care whether she is a religionist or not.

In her website, she makes no claim to her moral superiority, as a relgionist, or, better yet, a recovering alcoholic placed upon the wagon by the personal intervention of her diety of choice.

In this country, the default assumption is that all candidates are - or claim to be - religionists of some sort.

In the same vein that I do not do business with those who claim that I should patronize their business because they claim to be holier than their competitor who makes no such claim, I generally take a dim view of political candidates who do the same thing.

To my knowledge, neither Ms. Gibbs nor her supporters have made such a claim as yet.

That is not the case for the would be Reverend/Judge Turner.

I don't know how many people with confused sexual orientation consider themselves as one with the church

Way to go, Holy Smokes. You picked right up on that softball set up line in post #355 and hit a bigoted Christian home run just as "interested" had hoped someone would.

Okay. Marion, we all know that you know the difference between enforcing laws and adjudicating violations. We're impressed.
