Note to the owners: Soon after I post this, the usual juvenile A-holes on Topix will assert variously that y'all paid me to write you a good review or that I get my meals for free, etc. Just ignore them. Regular readers will recognize the lies of the lying scum.

I had lunch there today at 1:00. I opted for the chicken and dumplings.

Now let me first say that I've shied away from that dish in restaurants for the last 20 years or so after finally giving up hope of ever finding any worth a damn in a restaurant.

I am so glad I gave it one more try today.

First of all, you know how when you get it served on a plate it tends to spread out and mingle with the juices of whatever else is on your plate and you never really can get up the gravy part with a fork? Well, at P&C, they serve it up in one of those humongous soup mugs that will hold nearly two full cans of soup. Moreover, they serve it with a tablespoon in it. You can get just the right admixture of solids and gravy with every mouthful.

Let me get right to it: the very best flat noodle type chicken and dumplings I've ever eaten anywhere in my entire life. Only my mother's version with incredibly light, fluffy dumplings was better, and then not by much.

The dumplings had just the perfect texture. The amount of tender chicken was quite generous. The gravy was just the right thickness and viscosity an perfectly flavored with, among other things, just a light hint of an Italian seasoning mix (I know because I asked the cook. She is most happy to talk recipes with you. None of that cloak and dagger BS.)

The dish just had extraordinary presentation, aroma, flavor, and mouth feel. Superb.

Hallelujah, the iced tea was strong, perfect, Southern iced tea today! Thank you, thank you.

Ask Chief Griffis. He'll tell you.

Chief Andy Taylor would have called it "Some fiine, fiine, eatin'."

I can't imagine anyone having room for seconds after cleaning your first plate.

I took an order of bread pudding home. Can't wait to call it supper tonight with a cup of coffee. It looks goood!

Starting this Friday, after closing lunch at 2:00, they will re-open from 5:00 to 9:00 with all the shrimp you can eat plus the three sides and bread.
for $11.99.

They will run the same hours on Saturday, only Saturday supper will be their regular lunch type offering from 5:00 to 9:00 for the regular $8.95 price.

Today is tea brined pork chop day at P&C.

I had never heard of it until the cook told me how good they are.

Out of curiosity, I Googled the recipes.

Sounds good. I will not be able to make it today - cramming for an accounting exam. I'll certainly check it out next Thursday.

Tomorrow night, AYCE local wild caught fried shrimp for $11.99! 5:00 to 9:00

Peas and Carrots Restaurant is on Hwy 40 next to A & A Auto, where Dollys used to be, years ago it was the Cheese Steak Factory. A friend of mine went there and she said they have good food.

Someone removed my post because I said that I had gone there a couple of times and didn't care for it. Oh well, guess they don't want to hear anything negative about their food!

Good. You're either a damned Yankee who does know good food or a liar - or both.

ignorant people really tick me off, why does she have to be a damn yankee just because she doesn't like their food, and why would you call her a liar because she posted her opinion? you are camden's top idiot.

I will go there because they advertise on the Christian radio station. Probably where Jay heard about the place.
