this is not me venting about the election results this is me venting about turnout..battle of the bands over 1000 people, ralph j bunch classic 4-500 people...probate judge vote...400 people voted out of 5000 registered voters...it makes me sad to know that a lot of people died to get you your right to vote and you don't exercise those rights...

That's because many of my fellow "damned outsiders" only go t he polls to elect presidents.

That's why I've suggested voting only once per 4 years for EVERY ISSUE & OFFICE in Camden on the same day we vote for the president.

I know - it sounds crazy at first blush, but think about it.

It's pretty pathetic!!!

All surrounding counties that are thriving economically voted SPLOST down. Here where you can literally smell poverty in the air SPLOST is approved. Go figure...

We don't like to work and we draw more money in monthly checks from the government that we could make working.

Keep the government checks coming and the party going.

Really, Really?

Which surrounding Georgia counties are thriving? I spent over an hour with the Brunswick city manager today. If Glynn/Brunswick is thriving, he hasn't noticed.

Charlton? Brantley?

Only good thing about SPLOST, is that it makes those damned outsiders pay their share. HA-Ha-Ha!! They may not register their cars here, and claim out of state residents to avoid state taxes, but they are damn well gonna pay SPLOST

As long as we get a few bucks from them we can justify taking hundreds from idiots like you every year.

Great!! Now we can focus on less spending and smaller government without the attacks and name calling.

On second thought that is the only left wing tax and spend response to all arguments. Witness Morenos blogs.

jay do you think im a tea party whaco because i voted no on splost?

When you had
the afternoon with bwk manager has their miiage rate increased
I have several clients from coffee county and they voted it down. then made the elected to make the right cuts and they had no tax raise.
after sitting the last few meetings.Council keeps saying 1.5 million will go to new debt on sewer bond on all 3 buckets. they said we would get 3 buckets.

i know i am not great at math but 1.5x3=4.5.but on ballot city was going to pay 11 million, thats a few dollars short of 11 right?
i think i know what NEW debt but can you tell me what it is?

Morrisey and mayor said the city would get SPLOST money in 3 buckets.im going to assume that means they will get 3 checks from the county or state.
My direct question to them was "are they going to put the 1st 11 million the city got was going to water/sewer bond"
Johns answer was "the 1st 1.5 million of each bucket was going to NEW DEBT on the bond.
now if you can tell me how 1.5 3 times will make 11 million. Im a danm insider so please show me how 3 x 1.5 comes out to 11 i will listen

Okay, I get it. He was using "buckets" in lieu of the correct financial term, "tranches.

Noun 1. tranche - a portion of something (especially money)tranche - a portion of something (especially money)
share, percentage, portion, part - assets belonging to or due to or contributed by an individual person or group; "he wanted his share in cash"

Obviously, 3 X 1.5 million does not come out to $11 million.

Note the mayor and council NEVER said they would use 100% of SPLOST VII funds on water/sewer debt.

In your personal finances, if you have a debt, is not paying your utilities, mortgage, car payments, car repairs, and eating stale bread until it is paid off an option?
