The idea, which may or may not (likely not) work was to get as many hold outs as possible to go ahead and hook up and start incurrring monthly water/sewer bills during this "sale" on hook-up (cap recovery) fees.

Remember how reducing the county impact fees was going to re-ignite local building?

Same concept with likely the same result.

However, in either event, the real estate folks always win.

You are right about the real estate folks always winning here.

While inspecting submarines we had a saying "different class sub same class people"

Like the controlling St. Marys five in the middle when one leaves he/she is replaced by a clone with the same real estate expansion agenda.

The coming finacial disaster for the tax payers of St. Marys is directly the result of greed and speculation gone wrong from that group.

3+X = 5 in the middle

x = Stasinis + Gant or Hase + Trader

5 in the middle = Continuation of wasteful ineffective spending including Splot 7 with the exception of paying down W/S debt.

our Ivory Tower representatives still don't feel the struggle of the average tax payer in this community.

The real estate cartel is so powerful in this county, they, at times, have been able to place their own people in as city manager and other key positions within our local governents.

At times, the St Marys city government has been run by land speculators. Take a look at the rezoning and annexation frenzy of the 1980's.

Now on the Camden County Commission, we have commissioners who vote to reduce impact fees for land speculators/developers and transfer the cost of development to the backs of tax paying homeowners. Do they think there is a shortage of housing and bankrupt sub/divisions in Camden County?

Is the real estate cartel in bed with the marijuana grow house industry of St Marys? Do they need more vacant houses to grow their marijuana?

Government: crooked and corrupt to the core.

They, (st.marys) have really done good this time. They are trying and probaly will suceed in closing the SMPD. They are expecting the Sheriff to handle the police issues. I guess they will save a little money, however now we all have to suffer. Closing down your police dept really shows lack of common sense.

Oh, I guess when you live in Osprey Cove, and upscale America, you never need the police.
