Nothing wrong with being liberal other than you tend to ignore the facts of life.

Hey Bubba. Hope you had an enjoyable Memorial weekend.

Those of us of a more liberal bent tend to look at Conservatives and say, "They're OK but they just ignore the facts." I think we are both right; we all judge things through the filter of our political beliefs. Our country is great because of the diversity of views of the citizens as evidence by our elected leaders. Conservatism and Liberalism tend to balance out and we, as a country, follow a middle of the road path. There have been periods when we have right or left of center, but the pendulum of politics has always swung the other way and, over all, balance has been maintained.

Liberals love the different views. They are alternative. they love the underdog. Sometimes the underdog learns how to use that to his advantage.

So due to the fact that you do not agree with a person, you would essentially remove them from the field of play.....amazing! Julian since you have been living in your dream world lets look at people who also subscribe to your point of view. Adolph Hitler viewed the Jews in same regard. He felt they were the reason for the economic demise of Germany, so he persicuted them in such a fasion that it literally changed the modern world. The second area I would like to have you research is Syria. You see Bashar(sp) is exterminating his own people because they do not agree with his tyranical views. So I respect the fact you are not a Liberal but seriously Julian.....by any means. Please utilize that imaginary intelect and form your sentences so you don't look like the facioust, racist, biggot or just plain ignorant person you have come to be.

Not very suttle. You equate Hitler/Assad totalitarian dictatorships to conservatives or someone who wants to get rid of a liberal agenda.Hitler used the Jews as an excuse to maintain power as all dictaorships need a scapegoat that way they are not held accountable ie Obama admin. class warfare

Just looking at Julians last part of his statement. Seemed as usual for him extreme so in response to Jay I just chose two extremes he would understand. I agree government as whole is in a bad state of disrepair. It is going to take a cumulative effort from all sides to fix. To me it seems the entitlement age of politics is going to come to an end (not tomorrow) but in the future. This administration has had and continues to have too many uncertanties and with answers like I don't know or I plead the 5th isn't looking good for them. I don't look down on the Tea Part, heck a good amount of people are tired of what the Repubs. and Dems. are putting out so to them it's an alternative.

I totally agree. It is all about personal power and keeping it.

The Dem are all about victimizations/vote buying and the repubs. are incapable of articulating our founding fathers philosophy because they are to busy getting pork.

Where is the ethics in gov.?

We have lost our identity as Americans. We are now a nation of tribes, ethnicities, nationaliti es,gangs, colors, sexual preferences, abortionists, antig unners etc....

Do you see a pattern ?

Unfortunantly ethics go out the window when the vast majority of polititions see government as a money making venture. Once you become or take on the mind set that a career politition is not a bad thing then the eroded view wheather learned or tought takes over. This in turn gives the people in Washington the grey area they have been searching for to overlook our founding principles IMHO. The pattern here is dismal at best. You look in world history and most major societies that have fallen from times started with the trip down the moral errosion path. The sad thing that is before us is we can see it but do nothing or fainted efforts to stop them. Just like our members of government.

At work & on lunch so just have a minute to post.

I'd say one of the best things about being a liberal is not having to lie, cheat and belittle those less fortunate as Republicans tend to always do. Also it's nice that Liberals don't have this compulsion to have an enemy as Republicans seemingly must have. Listen to Faux News if you want an example of that mentality, it's just awful. Lastly, being able to help people and raise the bar for everyone, not the few, is also a nice Liberal trait I've enjoyed my whole life. While religion does not personally enter my Liberal equation, many say Liberals show by example and leadership a wonderful Christian face.

Liberals love to think of themselves as sophisticated, nuanced intellectuals, but the truth is they have a kindergartner’s view of the world. If it has been defined as "nice" to people they like, they're for it. If it has been defined as "mean" to people they like, they’re against it -- and that is about as deep as it gets. Unfortunately, that lack of adult perspective isn't so cute in political leaders who are making life and death decisions that may still have ramifications fifty years from now.

The greatest thing about grand kids is that you get to enjoy them for a while then they go home with their Mom and Dad and you get a good long break to rest up for the next time.

Exactly!

For those of you who do not truly understand what makes Libs tick - especially you self-deluded Libs - "The Vision of the Anointed," by the genius, Dr. Thomas Sowell, is must reading.
