Long before the Internal Revenue Service revealed it had improperly targeted conservative 501(c)(4) groups, a group of Democratic senators led by New York Sen. Chuck Schumer, urged the IRS to do just that.
Schumer along with Democratic Sens. Michael Bennet, Sheldon Whitehouse, Jeff Merkley, Tom Udall, Jeanne Shaheen and Al Franken, penned a letter calling on the agency to cap the amount of the political spending by groups masquerading as “social welfare organizations.”

Don't forget to include Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and all the other radicals, even Politix (who owns Topix), who would rather see this country fall than give an inch.
It is amazing how the Left hyperventilates over people like Rush who actually have a different point and, because of that pesky freedom of speech, have the opportunity to express it. And I presume you are referring to Rush's statement of "I hope he (Obama) fails." Anyone with an ounce of intellectual integrity understands what he was saying, but most on the Left pounce on it and use some variation of your stupid statement that he "would rather see this country fall". So we'll have a translation for those who are to dense to see the meaning.

"I hope he fails." - Translation: Obama's policies will be a disaster for this country.
His policies rely on a distrust of the strength of the American people to work hard and achieve their dreams.
His policies are based on the premise that the American people should instead look to the government for all their needs.
His policies are based on the desire to grow the government more and more and reach further and further in the lives of Americans to control everything from what doctor they can see and when (or if), to what jobs will be available after industries he disagrees with are shut down.
His policies are based on believing that the government should infringe on rights directly expressed in the Constitution as vital to the continuance of this nation as free and answerable to its citizens and instead "discover" rights that are not rights, but privileges and extend them in effect to every person who wants to come here - legally or not.

These are the policies that Rush -and most who call themselves conservatives-disagree with and consider destructive to this country and the principles on which it was founded. So when he, and we, say we "hope he fails", we are saying for the GOOD OF THE COUNTRY, we hope he fails to implement those policies that would be so destructive to this country - because we LOVE this country and want her to continue as the best the world has ever seen - perfect, of course not - but the best that has been achieved.

Some people like you will bring it up forever. You hate Obama, and the press tells you that "you've got something".
Most people are far less worried about it. They'd rather know that somebody cares about their home value. They'd rather know their job is secure. They'd rather know that middle-class issues are being improved upon.
<quoted text>
Do nothing president? I think what we have is a do-nothing Republican-led congress. What are the Republicans doing for our country? Voting for the THIRTY-SEVENTH time to repeal PPACA - even thought millions of Americans are already benefiting from it?
What else? Where is their legislation that makes life better for Americans?
<quoted text>
That's the thing about Republicans - they want heads on sticks. So whose head do you want on a stick? Which person in the IRS DO you want fired? That's an insane criticism and even you know it.
<quoted text>
So you'll B$tch at him if he says he'll cooperate, you'd B$tch at him if he didn't cooperate. You're a hater and nothing will make you happy unless some useless science-hating, loud-mouthed corporate-worshipping redneck republican fool is in office. Just admit it.
Chris Matthews said something anti-obama? Who cares? You seem caught up on the guy, I don't even know who he is.
<quoted text>

IRS - Not a thing. You do realize the IRS has over 100,000 employees, right? You expect that the POTUS should directly oversee what every single one of them is doing? Nuts.
AP - Who knows? We don't have enough information, and probably never will. So some Republican
Wow! You really ARE upset. Every single thing you posted is just more of your extreme left wing lunacy. I expected such from you. I DO dislike Obama's BEHAVIOR. Want to know why? Because he made absolutely RIDICULOUS promises when he ran the first time that SUPERMAN couldn't have fulfilled them. He pointed out just how empty headed and robotic enough citizens were to vote for someone with basically NO qualitifcations nor experience, VERY QUESTIONABLE affiliations and complete disdain for this country. He has DONE NOTHING except force through a Universal Healthcare Bill (VERY CLANDESTINELY) that is not funded. THAT points out how completely emptyheaded the Obamabots are in that they don't realize that the middle class will be ONCE AGAIN holding everyone else up. You extreme left wing lunatics have proved how you'll support ANYTHING at ALL COSTS as long as it's an extreme radical left wing lunatic proposing it. I used to feel sorry for you liberals because Obama is such a failure and some of you actually dropped at his feet and cried when he was campaigning the first time! Seriously?????????? HE'S JUST A MAN! Now, it's difficult to even muster up an ounce of respect for you because you are closing your eyes to what is happening all around you and if a conservative had been in office, you would be VICIOUS. What Obama is doing would be TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE if a conservative were even THINKING of doing it.
Look! Nothing MAY happen, but it WILL be used during the next campaign. That's good enough for me.
As for your last sentence, WHEN has Obama worked? His budget proposals have been feeble attempts( which apparently he didn't even expect would pass) and haven't even gotten past Harry Reid. You don't see a problem there? NO! You just HATE conservatives so much that your judgement is TOTALLY off base. You just HATE, HATE, HATE conservatives. The very same healthcare bill under a conservative would be DEATH TO THE COUNTRY. See how that works? You libs are crazy. I had to delete some of your post in order to fit my reply in.

I LOVE that Rush has the freedom to say insane, dangerous, idiot things in this country.

I'm terribly disappointed that we have people stupid and irresponsible enough to actually listen to his insane and short-sighted viewpoints.

There has not been one liberal poster who has been able, or even tried, to answer my question. What is the liberals ultimate goal of their philosophy? The fact that they cannot, or will not, answer that single question, is proof that they desire nothing more than to take from the successful, and give to the unsuccessful, and create a nation of 300 million zombies.

As soon as they are finished putting out Obama's fires, they'll get down to business. I agree, however, Obama certainly isn't doing anything to help. Of couse, HE has been otherwise engaged.

The truth of the matter is(IMO), the current problems with the IRS and AP were brought forward to distract people away from Benghazi. Well, that has backfired. The AP(not earthshattering) and IRS issues were ADDED TO Benghazi. Sometimes that happens, I guess, when one is trying to duck and dodge and distract.

Such knee-jerking from Americans is embarrassing. It really shows off the lack of education of so many of our citizens.
What is the Republican congress doing to improve educational standards in the US? Especially in the field of science? It appears many of the Republican Senators and Representatives are particularly deficient in that area.
When can we expect some Republican legislation?
You can probably expect that they'll control Obama. In other words, DAMAGE CONTROL.

CB, this question of yours makes no sense. The scenario you describe is actually much more similar to what HAS been happening the last 4 1/2 years. The press has fawned over this president and passed over so many incidents that should have had their little noses on the ground searching for the facts. The Founders of this country thought a free and independent press was so important to keeping the government accountable to the people that they included that freedom in the 1st Amendment. The media have dishonored that freedom by their LACK of questioning over incidents that should have had them clamoring for information.
When George Orwell originally wrote "Animal Farm" to illustrated the dangers of socialism and communism, he included a preface complaining about how the British were ignoring things they knew to be true and not reporting them out of a desire not to criticize their WWII ally - the USSR.
"The sinister fact about literary censorship in England is that it is largely voluntary.... Things are kept right out of the British press, not because the Government intervenes but because of a general tacit agreement that 'it wouldn't do' to mention that particular fact."
That is what we have witnessed the last 4 years: It "wouldn't do" to question Obama too closely about:
Bill Ayers or Jeremiah Wright or Tony Rezko
Black Panther voter intimidation
Solyndra
John Corzine and MF Global
Fast and Furious
Just to name a few.
The media we depend upon to be "watchdogs" over our freedoms have acted instead as "lapdogs" for this administration because of the overall media's own biases. But it would appear that even they could no longer stomach what has come to light over the last two weeks.
+++1 Excellent post. It may not last long, but the media is actually reporting stories that show Obama for what he is. The media has lost it's credibility for protecting Obama through the years. It seems they are trying to turn that around. It's about time.
