She's from Glasgow. Don't know if that is in the Dunoon region.
Her dad brewed Guinness.
However, she has actually mentioned that when her daughter was young and she was in Scotland, she used to leave the baby outside in her pram while shopping and dining.
Dunoon outlies Glasgow. A short train trip followed by a brief ferry ride across the Firth of Clyde. Many good memories including great fish & chips unlike anything available stateside.

The Scots love their dogs. There was a saying that stores welcomed dogs inside but encouraged prams & cargo (babies) to stay outside.

Bistro& Brews is open for Sunday brunch today from 9:00 to 3:00.

I will not be able to make it today.

If you go, would you please give us a review of what was on the menu.

Thanks.

You arrive for a family dinner with your overly protective wife and two young daughters. You are seated next to Moreno . Out comes the waitress with a glass of weak tea and places it directly in front of the fat man. As you witness the changing of color in his face as the rage builds you must question your decision of putting your family in harms way.

On a related note, I recently had the pleasure of taking lunch at a delightful little Scottish restaurant in Kingsland...

It's called "McDonald's", and those of you who have yet to sample its' fare are doing yourselves a gross disservice by not stopping by.

Staffed by an eclectic mix of nationalities and personalities, it features a menu that draws strongly from imaginative interpretations of traditional fare.

I chose a delightful number featuring not one, but two flavorful patties of chopped beef; adorned with a simple mix of fresh shredded lettuce; festooned with a simple slice of pasteurized and processed cheese; and topped with a delightful sauce which served to amplify the sum of the parts; all of this artfully displayed within not one, but three separate slices of perfectly baked enriched white bread. Be still my heart!

In a testament to the whimsical, yet cosmopolitan theme of the place, it was simply described on the menu as "The Big Mac". I could not help but notice the humor in such a simple name for such a complicated offering!

I also chose a portion of delicately sliced russet potatos, cleverly cut into thin oblong pieces, and then perfectly fried in what must have been a carefully blended bath of animal fat based oil. Trust me...you have to taste them to appreciate them.

For a beverage, I selected a cup of carbonated water, flavored with an inspired blend of caramel syrup and corn sugar, with just a hint of preservative added.

In short, it was a culinary experience unlike any I have ever had.

Those of you who can appreciate the finer things in life would be well-advised to give it a try.

Bon Appetit!

Very good, Comrade Kearns.

Perhaps you can peddle that to one of those Commie-Lib rags that regularly publish your whiny, bitchy, self-righteous drivel.

Give my regards to Anti-Jay and Nanzilla.

Yes, bitch, I've got your number.

What, you don't like Scottish food?

Well...okay...then there's this elegant little sports-themed breakfast nook just west of the interstate at Exit 3. Cleverly named the Huddle House.

Do give it a try.

No, wait....that's Exit 7, and just east of the interstate.

Exit 3 is a Belgian bistro...Waffle House.

Silly me. So awash was I in the digestational throes of joy from my Scottish experience that I momentarily took leave of my senses. I beg your forgiveness.

I ate lunch at the Bistro last week. It was good and a welcomed change to our ho- hum eateries. But, it is not the gourmet restaurant people are making it out to be. I think it's funny people think it is gourmet! Seriously? Like I said, it's good, not incredibly good, but good. They do need to get organized and get the orders correct. When I was there, there were maybe 5 or 6 tables and I saw at least 5 orders delivered incorrectly. They should get their act together soon.

Jay, I wonder if Alex has started her own list of "Actionable Calumnies" against you , considering all the untruths you have published using her name....Of course there's always "Internet Bullying" and "Cyber Stalking".

Legal action can be a double edged sword.

So, "Carl," regale us with tales of your life as a cosmopolitan gourmand.
