Your honesty is exceeded only by your courage!I realize that Mr Moreno is the most despised man on Topix. But, I have to disagree with Samantha' s comments on The Bistro. I have eaten there many times since it opened and all the food I have had, and those with me, has been delicious. The service isn't the best but the food is top notch. We don't have another restaurant in this area of this caliber so we need to support this place and not trash talk it. Btw, I love French onion soup and theirs is some of the best I have ever had! I dont care if it served in a shoe!..
It's delicious. Their hamburgers are ground fresh daily and my favorite around here. All their meats are baked freshly, not packaged or precooked, as is their breads.
The disconnect between the quality of the food and the quality of the service is an interesting one.
I suspect that you have had that quality of food, as have I, in a milieu where if you broke your bread into three pieces, out of nowhere, a guy in a bow tie and a waistcoat would zip in with a tiny silver dustpan and matching silver handled mini-broom and whisk away any crumbs you might have dropped onto the linen tablecloth. Years ago, if you reached for your inside coat pocket, there was a lit silver cigarette lighter under your nose before you could get you're cigarette pack out. I had that experience once on Hilton Head Island at the Hilton. I did not care for it.
At B&B, you get the kind of food you get with that kind of service - only for a fraction of the price - but you get relatively amateurish service from very nice, very eager-to-please waitresses who have never had that kind of dining experience. Vickie and her husband are working on training them, but I would hope that I never see a silver dustpan and whisk broom again.
I'm not sure what sort of service deficiencies you have experienced but I've been happy with my service. Of course, I've never been in there during peak lunchtime hours.
I'll bet that if you will articulate the glitches, they will soon be fixed.
