I find the local law enforcement personal, keep saying that none of this marijuana money gets spent in mendocino county. This is so far from the truth, I wonder why they keep trying to spread this false fact. Anytime I am home, I see some much green money being spent on all kinds of stuff. Ask anyone who has a store and they know who they are and they are happy to see them.

I believe they were trying to say the trimmers from out of town take their money with them when they leave.Of course while they are here they spend money:)

Most trimmers in the remote areas are not allowed to leave untill their job is done. The growers provide food and shelter for them and once the job is done they are paid. Once paid they go back home to the state they came from

What a stupid article. Only a what, no who?, where(unnecessarily vauge "5mi out C. Rd."), why?(leads, tips, surrounding facts, names.
They are begging for their ID's so they can return to their home states??? Makes sense to me, IF state ID's are like passports and states are monitoring their borders like sovereign countries.
Who buys this cut and paste hack job stuff anyway, when you can be irritated for free online?

Uh, hello? These punks do NOT spend money here, I have stood in line behind them at local fast food restaurants, watched them pull stacks of money out of their pocket and proceed to order off the .99 cent menu. This is the laziest group of kids there are, they are unmotivated, and are happy to be working two to three weeks a year, then the rest of the time they lay on the couch dripping Nacho sauce down their chin and do not contribute to anything positive.

Born and raised in Ukiah thirty-four years. I don't buy the Journal. Crappy articles like this one are the reason. I'm disgusted with so many out of state people profiting off of our county. I am not involved with the marijuana industry, I'm a recovering addict. MY family is though, unfortunately it's no longer a mom and pop organization.

Mendo Local. I am not sure how being frugal=lazy. In fact, one might argue that getting a deal off the 99 cent menu is the only "intelligent" thing to do. But, that is beside the point.

Is there such a thing as a local fast food restaurant? If there was it passed away when Foster Freeze went out of business..... I am sorry, but, you are sadly mistaken if you think McDonald's is local. Or, any fast food joint at that rate. Obviously, profits from corporations like that are quickly shipped out of town, out of county, and out of state. Well, besides the measly salary they pay a couple of locals....

If you want to do good for the county, eat at a truly local restaurant. Better yet, eat at a local restaurant that supports local farmers.

Not quite sure how you argue that others aren't doing their part when you are in line right behind them.

Let me guess, you are the shop in Santa Rosa kind of Mendo Local....

"Uh hello?"
made me say "uh goodbye" to reading whatever else this, like, uh, totally whining person had to say.
Wow, i'm grumpy today. I love this feeling.
SO I lied, but that catchy tag line made me anticipate correctly that I was about to waste 15 seconds of my very important life.

From what I could gather of Mendo Local's comment:-these lazy kids eating 7-11 and 99. menu items are all really shrewd fiscal conservatives saving every cent they make for some future endeavor. Who would have guessed?!?
-sitting in a chair trimming but for 10 hrs straight is the easiest job on ever for lazy kids.
-these "unmotivated" kids unmotivate themselves across 15 states to sit in a chair trimming but for 10 hrs straight for weeks at a time. They then hibernate on couches, couches possibly made of cash they so voraciously cling too!

Sounds like these douche's have their work cut out for them. Yes, I'm talking about the cops. Trimmers don't spend money in our county?? Really, I didn't know people can freely teleport in and out of state and never eat. Spoken like a true prohibitionist has his back against the wall.

Not allowed to leave? Are you kidding???? I have found most growers do not want their trimmers hanging around when not working, sending the workers home on the long dirt road only to return the next day. I have never heard of a worker being forced to stay overnight at a job. I guess if they came from out of state they would prefer to stay the night... but making them stay? you got to be kidding.

Agreed. It's like the anti-immigration/Mexican argument grafted onto dope growing. Like illegals they are sending all their money home and making US white American taxpayers(read SUCKERS)pay to carry their weight in social services; And
"They buy cheap stuff when they do spend" anyway.

I'm always stunned how many people buy into such obvious dummy baiting.

Five miles out Covelo road would be fice miles from Hwy. 101. No wonder Covelo gets such a bad reputation.

Motivaed, hitchhiking, freeloading off of travelers, holding up signs that say out of gas, need help! Frugal? No, not really, just saving their bucks to get back home and freeload off mom and dad or couch surf from doper to dope's hose. Keeping tight hold of their monet so they can buy more and different drugs!

Did I say McDonald's? try Burger King or aTaco Bell or the quick marts. You can find them getting their munchies every saturday night.

10 hours a day for two weeks a year to get drug money is not motivated just needy and addicted dum bass!

Seriously, commerical properties would be vacant and dilapidated if it werent for good ole ganja. There are always a few bad seeds growing it just like there are a quite few bad people running wall street but when you consider the volume of pot being grown in the area it really is a minor problem. It needs to be completely legalized, after all it is more envirnomentally freindly than growing grapes.

Well put, just because he was born here does not mean he represents the culture of the majority of the county.
