I think RPD is trying to cover up what they know is a big problem in their town. These GANGS are out of control. I seen Cutler put a gang injunction against Surenos & Nortenos maybe you should try that and see if that helps. You cant only go after one side because your allowing the other side to get bigger & its just going to result in more murders that go unsolved it dosent take a rocket scientest to figuer this out! Or is it that you guys just dont care???

Exactly thats what its all about there trying to keep this under the table..its been going on for years an all we can do is sit back n watch the RPD let this town go to hell..yea they started the injunction here but just on the nortenos of course not the surenos they are free to walk in bunches dressed with blue and as soon as the RPD sees red there done and in the back of a police car..n i just found out the one of the RPD is related to some surenos here hmmm maybe thats our answer why you wont do nuthin n all these gangs no now is that u can kill n get away wit it 6 UNSOLVED!!!

I feel very sad for the family who lost this young boy. It's a very unfortunate and unnecessary circumstance of kids in gangs. Gangs are absolutely ridiculous and embarrassing. There is a great big world out there. Yet these people only think as far as their own backyards.
As I said before, I'm very sorry for their loss, but I am really sick and tired of having carwash fundraisers for funerals. It seems more and more common these days and to be quite honest it's scary. I'm sure that individually these are nice people, but I will say what people are thinking: they are scary as a group!
I'm 100% Mexican heritage and I"m embarrassed and disgraced by the way these young people behave and carry themselves. And where are the 'elders' in this picture?
If you're going to join a gang, you run a big risk of dying. It's a fact. IF you're such a "man" to be involved in such activities, then "man up" and get a job and leave money behind for your family to bury you.

Yes. It's part of being a thriving citizen. Looking out for your future.

As I've said before, these people are only looking to today, and tomorrow usually never comes for them.

When did it become OK to ask for handouts? Handouts to people who do not follow the law, go to school or have jobs. It completely disgusts me to see healthy men/boys who should be in school or work, out hanging out throwing gang signs, nodding their heads, wearing red/blue in the middle of the day.

All the while they're getting welfare checks.

I'm TIRED OF IT! THESE are the people that give Mexicans a bad name. Pitiful.

I don't know what you mean by coconut. But, if you mean a college-educated 2nd generation bilingual person who actually works for a living and has children who strive to be good contributions to society. Then, yes, a coconut I am.

My parents only speak Spanish and taught my brothers and sisters to work hard and earn respect by living in God's word. I marched in the Cesar Chavez marches. I am a devout Catholic.

What about you?

Melissa,

I never said he deserved to die. EVER. All I said was when you choose a certain lifestyle, there are consequences. And unfortunately death is a big reality for those in gangs.

Get your facts straight before you post. Also, please learn how to spell and use proper grammar.

Rest in Peace Felix Medina And Ralphie Lopez. I've known these families all my life we grew up in the same neighborhood. I grew up with there parents and my kids grew up with there kids and both these families are very close and GOOD people with big hearts. It's very sad that people will judge but that's something they will have to deal with themselves. To the family WE know all about the circumstances of there deaths so it DOESN'T matter what people who don't know YOU or your families and your FAITH!! GOD REST THERE SOULS AND THE FAMILIES IN MOURNING. AND GOD BLESS OUR YOUTH!!

It always pisses me off when they throw the term "gang member" or "gang related" in there (the media/law enforcement)
Does that make them any less a HUMAN BEING...thats the one thing that they did have in common with all of us...AND THE MOST IMPORTANT! They were someone's son, father, brother, cousin, grandchild etc..Why the negative connotations? Don't demean their very existence based on innuendo.

Yes get it right Melissa she did not say he deserve to die just that the should bury themselves! I Lived in Orange Cove all my life and when the 5 Salazar babies past away we had car washes everywhere for them and they are called donations! Not handouts if it wasn't for the people who believe everyone is a human being they would not have been able to bury them. I donated to the car washes for both of these young boys because I have a heart and so do many others. To these familias that lost there loved ones you are still in our prayers!

I could go on and on and tell you exactly where these young boys were at in there lives and I could tell you exactly what they were like, but people who stereo type and judge before knowing the facts are not worthy of explaining. I am "embarrased and ashamed" that my children my parents and myself could actually be sitting next to someone like you in church! Shame on you!!
