To all that are making terrible remarks, just stop it. Do you not have better things to do. Until you have felt the pain of losing a child, keep your silence.
A child is gone and another family is suffering. Let us all remember how precious life is. I will pray for the family. Another child who happened to make a terrible mistake. It only takes a moment.

Scott Lamm was a good friend of mine, and a former KPHS football teammate. He was full of so much potential and promise, but now it's all gone. Drunk Driving kills, period. Why don't people understand that? I've not once driven druk my entire life, and don't ever plan on doing so. Be Careful this weekend, everyone. If you're too smashed, call a cab, or get a ride home from a Designated driver. Accidents like this are avoidable, and now one of my friends is dead. It doesn't matter if you're 19 or 59, DON'T DRIVE DRUNK!!!
People DO understand that driving drunk is the wrong thing to do, but the true paradox here is that at the time you should be most aware of it alcohol has warped your good sense. How many times have you seen a person who was obviously drunk off their butt say “I’m fine…..where’s my keys?”

The only cold stone lock way to prevent drunk driving is to make the vehicle smart enough to know that the individual attempting to operate it is impaired and have it act accordingly, i.e. DON’T START. If persistent attempts are made the vehicle CALLS THE POLICE, and once the police get there they take you into custody. NO DUI, no DL loss, but a hefty fine and some time in the holding tank. Second offense heftier fine and court mandated treatment.

The technology exists. Why we don’t see this being moved on is beyond me.

There are other alternatives to what I posted above, but the core fact is that we have tools today that were non-existant 20 years ago. Using the would prevent people from killing themselves and worse yet innocents.

My heart goes to the family destroyed by this drunk drivers actions. Never is drunk driving an accident. It is a choice that criminals make. It does not matter how good of a guy this drunk driver was, is, or whatever. The fact is, he KILLED an innocent person, during the commission of a crime. The excuse that the drivers ability to think straight due to the consumption of alcohol, is moot. The alcohol did not make him kill his friend, only he killed his frined.

I agree with some of what you wrote but, the drunk drivrs always seem to know to STOP when they see flashing red lights in the rear view mirror. But yet, they don't know enough, not to drive? Bullsh@#! They seem to want to SOBER up then. Society tends to make excuses for these drunk drivers. Society needs to stop making excuses for these criminals.

Sorry, not true. Many drunk drivers choose to flee when they see the flashing red lights in their rear view mirrors. Where does society make excuses for drunk drivers? I could not disagree with you more here. What I see is that there is an "alcohol economy", which states earn tax dollars off of from each sale, not only over the counter but from bars and restaurants. Prohibition failed. Apparently no matter how anyone feels about it people are going to drink and a percentage of them are going to drive. What frightens me is that it is actually LEGAL to drink and drive. You just can't drink so your BAC goes over .08 and then drive. We need to take steps to take the drunk out of the equation and I believe we have the technology to do this. Until that happens all the negative feelings of society or increases in the penalites surrounding DUI or OUI are going to change a thing.

for all you who are saying these things about scott and how hes no loss to society i hope you burn in hell for eternity. you have no IDEA what an amazing person this kid was. he was a good friend of mine and didnt deserve to die regardless of the life choices he made. he was not a bad person and he would put his life on the line for someone else. your a waste of life to be cruel enough to post comments regarding someones death being a good thing because you dont agree with what he has on his damn myspace page. it should have been you not him who died and as terrible as that sounds you deserve it for being so inhumane. you have no hearts and mock someones death while others will mourn it for the rest of their lives. you were amazing scott and you will be forever missed<3333 we love you baby, keep it Q up there for us.

SANCHEZ, you truly have no life, i am correct, right? To come on a site where friends are missing their lost friend, you always have to come on and say your stupid freaking sh&t. You have no friends, just a keyboard. Too bad for you that you feel superior thinking you are really making people's lives miserable with your comments. I am so sorry that your boat didn't sink when you snuck into this country. Retard. RIP SCOTTY

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Cancer

It's a sensational Full Moon in your sign, combined with a lunar eclipse! Holy cow! However, once you accept that even the best-laid plans could go awry today, you'll find that life is a lot easier to cope with. Try your hardest to take everything in your stride, even if you do have to rethink an arrangement at the eleventh hour. At least it's never a dull moment! Do your best not to let the tensions of the day spoil what promises to be some spectacular New Year's Eve celebrations. It will be an opportunity to let off steam. Have fun!
