without investgating the effect of the new Title Ad Valorem Tax (TAVT) effective today. See http://onlinemvd.dor.ga.gov/TAP/faqs.aspx T&G reported this but was scant on details. Prior to TAVT GA gave you sales tax credit for the 4% you paid FL. My read is you will now pay 4% to FL and 6.5% to GA. If you buy a new car in GA, the TAVT appears to be a good deal esp if you plan to keep it several years. The TAVT is computed on Fair Market Value (FMV) less trade in. Comparing recent purchase FMV was less than selling price. This will also make incompetent local dealers more competitive with the Jax dealers.(windfall for Eddie)

We were going to buy a new diesel pusher RV in Florida. The FL sales tax would have been nearly $8,000. Then the GA TAVT would have been over $12,000.

We now think we will ride out our RV'ing days in our little 34' gas Class A.

The TAVT isn't any more than the old sales tax and you no longer pay the annual ad valorem. You can't find what you want in GA? There's a big RV place on 95 N towards Savannah. Smart money is on a good used pusher.

Yeah, that sucker is huge. It's just east of I-95 and just north of I-16. You can see it from I-95. Exit to the right at the Pooler exit (U.S. 80), then turn right at the light in front of McDonalds.

Acres of inventory.

If you are there at lunchtime, don't miss lunch at Miss Sophie's inside the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum. Excellent!

Someone will come up with some creative leasing.
