Democrats answer to our fiscal crisis is always to raise taxes..
Why is that?
They never want to cut the size of government by cutting back on the over 1000 agencies or over 2 million employees.
Stupid and wasteful and very hard on those that still pay taxes.
Don't they understand the financial hardships the American people are living through?

Yes, they do understand.

Their goal is to prolong the hard times to force more folks onto the dole in hopes tha they will become comfortable there, us becoming reliable Democat voter. To buy those new government dependents' votes, thy have to raise taxes on the producers.

It's really quite simple.

Yes it is quite simple.
Wonder why more people don't understand.
Probably because they think short term and don't consider the long term ramifications.
They have no concept of the financial and social dangers involved in a one party system.

Bubba and Jay I think ya both are wrong,I think they are so out of control on having to spend they cant stop from spending.
this is what needs to happen
every elected person from city council up to DC that votes on people pay needs to earn the same as the person in their lowest paygrade.
say for yu jay a person on SS/SSI if they think you can live off that than hey can right, because the way its looking you do as much work as they do. I dont see stuff getting done up there. crap we paid obama for past 4 years and he has only worked 2 of them to pass obamacare the other 2 hewas raising money to get re-elected.
if we could cut their pay or pay hem on prformance we may could see something get done.

The Democrats always want to raise taxes because it is always other peoples' money. They are always the lower end of the food chain. They always vote on increasing the taxes that they never have to pay.

Here we go again. I am not now, nor have I ever been, on "SS/SSI."

I receive SSDI. However, I turned 65 last week so I would be SS eligible anyway. Now, kindly ESAD.

Ya'll really should have paid attention in school! ALL bills to raise taxes MUST originate in the House of Representatives which has been controlled by the REPUBLICAN party for the last two decades. To pass they must get out of the House of Representatives by a majority vote, then past the Senate and the President. See? Your Republican controlled House is the one who passes the tax bills which the Democrats propose. We all need to look where the money gets earmarked, that's where the power and the blame belongs. The President, whether Democrat or Republican, is only a veto vote. That veto can be overturned by a 2/3 majority of Congress.

The House initiates all appropriations bills. In the last sixteen years (since 1996) the House has been controlled by Republicans, exception= Nancy Pelosi, four years. Currently John Boehner is House Speaker, almost two years, he's a Republican.

Harry Reid (Dem.) has been Senate Majority Leader since 2007.

Partisan politics are counter-productive and ARE NOT going to alleviate the rough times. But let's put the blame where it should be, with Congress, the House and the Senate.

The Republicans gained control of the House in Jan 1995 after the Dems had held it for over 40 years. With them in control the budget was balanced for the first time in 40 years. Then the Reps started acting like Dems and the rest is history.

In regards to our current situation the following is applicable:

"The day the democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress.

The Democrat Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this:

January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress. At the time:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH

Remember the day...

January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?

BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!

Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie?

OBAMA and the Democrat Congress

So when someone tries to blame Bush...

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!"

Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th."

we can disagree on who is to blame but dont say that I did not pay attention in school.I think you did'nt or you had a stupid teachers
a decade is 10 years
2 decades= 20 years
Dems. took office in 1997
so in the slow school I went to 1997+20=2017
and its only 2012 I did the math in my head thats 5 years short of 2017
were you sleeping in class or go to a school that was ran by union leaders.

I've noticed that if anyone disagrees they are immediately labelled an Obama supporter. I NEVER mentioned Obama, in fact I was speaking of Congress, specifically the House as the initiator of all appropriation bills. In my opinion Congress is the economic culprit. The same corporations and PAC funds contribute to the same Congressmen, Democrat and Republican, in the same year for the sole purpose of pushing their corporate agendas. The Democrats and Republicans are consequently pushing the same agenda, just on differing paths.
