This is the operable phrase from LeVan...

"If it's equal quality and equal price, Adams County breaks all ties"

LeVan is going to decide what is and what is not equal quality and equal price. He will use business profit principles to make those decisions. If he will profit more by going outside of Adams county, he'll do it.

It's illogical to think that his business decisions will result in a big uptick in the Adams County economy.

Remember he has already gone to Harrisburg to hire his casino spokesperson, David LaTorre. I know there are Adams county people that are more talented than that guy and would work for less.

That's the kind of thing that we can expect from Mr. LeVan. Get the stars out of your eyes folks. You're setting yourselves up for a huge disappointment.

Oh No ! Another mis-informed Park Superintendent ! How dare Mike Madell, Superintendent of the Vicksburg National Park say the casino hasn't had a negative impact on his park.. What's a scholar like Violet Clark going to do ? How can Paddock spin this ? Was it taken out of context ? How could this superintendent be so wrong with that statement. And oh my....The chambers of Commerce praising the casinos for buying local and hiring local...Oh my ....Did they speak out of context..? Spin time "Susie"..Let's hear the excuses this time..

Care to drop a few names on those in Adams Country as qualified or talented in PR than David LaTorre ? Or are you just blowing the usual NCG smoke ?

This same statement could be made for all future hires in the casino. Basically what you are implying is that if a person from outside the area is more "qualified or talented" then hiring local goes out the window. Thanks for supporting Edd's post!! I guess it isn't just "NCG smoke" after all is it?

I moved yo adams county in the 90's from the pittsburg area to get away and enjoy a simpler life. So far it has been a pleasant experience but it seems Mr LeVan is just a money greedy person from a small community thats trying to feel big. He already has his very own Harley Davidson dealership. Does anybody realize that he dosent pay his excisting employees very much? Is this how he is going to treat the employees of his very own casino? I will feel sorrow for the local and small buisiness when we feed the monster because it will definitly take buisines from the local bars and restaurants. ps, is his long hair a sign that drugs will increase in the area?

Excuse me ... In the case of casino hires, people will be trained for positions at the facility. Nice try....and No..I don't support Edd's post .. and yes, I would still like to hear Edd's local PR candidates. I think you are too blinded by your smoke !

George it's a shame you have to go with the personal attacts on an individual, You are pathetic and a typical "poster child" for NCG... Find a rock and crawl back under.

George - you're complaining that the guy has a successful business in the Harley dealership? Do you complain about all successful business people?

How much do you think a retail salesperson, motorcycle salesperson, or motorcycle mechanic should make? I'd be willing to bet that their pay is probably pretty close to what can be had elsewhere, otherwise the employees would leave for greener pastures (especially in these economic times).

Your comment about long hair and drugs is really out of touch with reality. Ever hear the saying "don't judge a book by its cover"? Try getting beyond stereotypes sometime.

Check out the internet yellow pages for Adams County firms that could do the kind of work that David LaTorre, the Northumberland county resident, is doing for Mr. LeVan. There's a number of local people LeVan could have picked.

LaTorre is doing an OK job, but it sure isn't that spectacular for LeVan to choose him over local people.

It's an indication of the low regard that LeVan has for those of us in Adams County.... unless he wants us to clean his toilets.

There's no way Mr LeVan is going to waste time, resources, and money training people for business critical positions if he can hire someone from outside the county for the savings it will yield.

Mr. LeVan will not be running a charity folks. Too many view the casino for what they think it will be, rather than realizing that the bottom line will be business profits and not the well being of local residents.

Get real.

What's your gripe with Dave LeVan? Do you know him? This seems like a very personal issue for you. You rarely ever even mention the casino when you post. It's always "LeVan this" and "LeVan that". You have to get over it buddy. "I don't like Dave LeVan" isn't a very good argument against a casino and it won't hold any water with the PGCB.

Hey Edd...Can you run through a "short list" maybe of businesses that aren't in business to make a profit. Do you realize how stupid you are sounding ? Care to site your source for another "off the wall" statement that LeVan won't care for the "well being of local residents" ? Just more steam coming off the NCG manure !

Do you know him? I know who he is and have met him. Not impressed. He appears to be all about money, that means putting it in his pockets, not the lowly employees running a card table.

Were you high or drunk when you met him because you couldn't be more wrong. For someone who's all about money as you say he sure gives a lot of it away. I happen to know a lot of people who work for him and they seem very, very happy with the way they're compensated.

You are right "truth". That is why most of the employees of Battlefield Harley Davidson have been with the company since the day it was opened. If Mr. or Mrs. Levan didn't pay good wages most, or all of those employees, would be gone.

Edd is such a dope.
