It is difficult to imagine how the budget for a facility which has existed for many, many years, could fall nearly 400% short of the mark. How is such a gross miscalculation explained?
As a taxpayer with a loved one in the home, I want every other taxpayer to know what an asset it is. My elderly mother has been in several different nursing homes over the last seven or eight years. None provided the quality of care that Pleasant Acres provides.
I hope that the facility can be managed with maximum efficiency and effectiveness, but $5 million, as much as that is, pales in comparison to the Highpoint misadventure. Let us keep our priorities in perspective.

Who is in charge of this facility? These employees can't all report to the commissioners can they? Seems like the first line item is find how who is in charge and why they are so far over budget.
