Correct, Nemacolin developer Joe Hardy has been lining the pockets of lawmakers for YEARS with money. Look at the campaign records, he's given millions to Rendell, who of course said he "opposes" the Gettysburg project, then took a job with the law firm that represents Nemacolin.

Clearly, a conflict of interest.

I'm actually surprised the board couldn't reach a vote until the two new members were replaced - either those old members were never politically influenced by hardy, or someone had the balls to say "no" to Nemacolin.

It will never happen in Gettysburg. Even if LeVan gets his wish, people from all over will protest and it will never be built. This not a local issue no matter how hard they try to say it is. This is global. Just ask Ken Burns or Warren Buffet what they think! NoCasinoGettysburg!
How can protests stop a legal and approved business venture? Good luck with that.

Sorry to hear that you are misinformed.
Nothing is being "built," in fact there is no new construction.
Not sure what you've been reading from the CIvil War Preservation Trust, but there is definitely no new construction in the project.
I hate to argue with you Preservationist2, but he is correct, it will never be built. The building will be renovated and updated, and as I understand they will eventually update and renovate at least parts of the hotel, but you are correct, there will be no building for the casino.

This is global? Since when did 8000 people on a facebook page become global? Since when did 32 percent in opposition locally become global? You do realize what global means, right? You do know the population of the globe, right? Is your position really going to be that this is a global issue? I would bet a thousand dollars that if you went to Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc, etc etc they have not heard of this issue nor would they care. I would bet 100 dollars that if you went to South Dakota, Indianna, Idaho etc the majority of people there have not heard of this issue. Face it...the majority of people locally support this project. Nowhere near a majority locally, nationally or globally are opposed to it no matter how much you wish they were. If they were NCG and Mrs Paddock would have to polls to prove it. But she has not even done a local poll because she does not have the numbers to back her bogus claims up.

GBM, the majority of the Nation and the world, probably donít know about it, or are of the opinion, that it is on private property in Cumberland Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania, United States of America. It isnít anything that they should be involved with.

Exactly! And no matter how many times the NCG'ers screech and whine and moan that is is a National, Gobal, World, etc issue that does not change the FACT that it is a LOCAL ISSUE! One that they have chosen to hijack and involved people that do not live here in.

I believe someone ask this question before, but who will be making this decision? Will it be the United States Gaming Commission?

Quoted from the CWPT news, "......a public opinion poll conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling and Research reveals that Pennsylvania voters overwhelmingly oppose plans for a casino Ĺ mile from the historic Gettysburg Battlefield. According to the poll, fully two-thirds of Pennsylvania voters actively oppose the idea of a casino at Gettysburg and nearly 60 percent favor pending legislation that would block future attempts at similar proposals. Further, 57 percent state that, if approved, such a Gettysburg casino would be an embarrassment to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania....specific sampling of Adams County voters illustrates otherwise. The community is deeply divided on the issue, with 45 percent opposing the casino and only 41 percent supporting it. Opposition, however, is based on proximity to the battlefield rather than hostility toward gaming; were the chosen location further from the battlefield and national park, stated opposition falls to 35 percent of county voters."

My deepest gratitude to CWPT for doing this poll and proving these PCAC idiots wrong.

I would like to ask the same questions that NCG ask about the Mason Dixon poll. Just what questions were ask. Were they leading questions? Where can they be found.

In other words you just took results from the actual poll results from the poll Dr Terry MaDonna did for Mason Dixon and doctored them up to try to lie to garner more support for NCG. When asked for proof you are unable to provide it. Because you are a liar.

Is this the same CWPT that funded the television ads against the casino?
