I would like to inform you that several students from West Stokes are hanging out at a place called the "Shop". At the "Shop", they are doing drugs and drinking. These teens are getting into trouble, by not coming home on the weekends, Lying, being drunk, even getting underage drinking tickets, etc…
This information has been freely given to me from a student who attends these "parties". From what I understand, it is a students parents place. I do not know where it is. However, It is important to keep our teens safe, and this place is the worst I've heard of.
If you can find out any information as to where it is located (I've heard it is by tobaccoville, but these are King Teens), or put the word out that the parents know about it, maybe the kids can be stopped for now.
I believe my teen informs me of this information for attention. Well, she gets it. Grounded. That is all we can do. She has been evaluated and had Social Services involved to no avail. She claims it won't do any good, she'll continue to drink and be disobedient. We will deal with that, but, this awful "hell" this parent is allowing to happen, needs to be found and put to a stop. I am going to inform the paper and the police to see if there is something that can be done or found out. Minus the names.
I wish to stay anonymous please as to save my communication with the above children for my sanity and to continue an open communication with my teen.
If, however, you receive any information as to where this is located, if you could please let me know.
Thank you for your time and concern.

Looks like King has always had drug problems with rebellious kids. I suggest you find support from Tough Love and 12 step programs in the area and if your child continues to deny her problem you need an alt home to place her in in the Tough Love or like program. I am aware of parents in that area who have lost children to the drug cult and those with support groups are dealing better than those who are frozen.

the "shop" is located diagonal from the Tobaccoville Park. There is a Big Brown House and behind it a few small buildings where the kids hang out. We found our daughter there after her not coming home one evening, shacked up with empty beer cans, the smell of cig smoke and older "men" 21 and she is only 15. If you can get this place busted, it might save alot of kids.

Amazing how such a nice (richy) city is corrupt with this stuff. I thought it was a great place to live. I have been there 7 years. I'd rather live in Winston.

The drug problem has no respect for ones palce in the world, this is a national disease. I have seen children of school personel, medical professionals and other "upstanding' and even christian familes brought to brink of death and beyond in the King area, and the denial in that area only serves to feed the kids into the drug affected life.

I know Im late on this response, better late than never. My child is an 11 grader at West Stokes.. Go to that school and watch them kids at the Friday night football games, it will leave you in SHOCK. My child is in the West Stokes Marching band, so I see alot. Its NOT all the childs fault, its mainly the parents. Parents today are just plain STUPID and just dont care what their child does, just as long as they dont have to be bothered with them.

I put the information on the comment section here.

It is Tobaccoville Road diaganol from the Tobaccoville Park. Behind a brown house on a hill are little shop looking buildings.

Please Help if you can.

Also, put more cops up in the king and Pinnacle Areas road blocks. I know tons of kids and under age (adults) that drink and drive up here. They need to learn a lesson. The king police I have been told are buddy buddy with the kids at the Old O'Reilys parking lot in King and McDonalds.

Thanks for your support!!!!!!!

Keep our Kids safe and drug free. They think it is a game.

Its amazing how some people can talk about an issue about kids misbehaving, and turn it against the police. I am friends with several King Police Officers and they are not buddy buddy with the kids at the old O'Reily's parking lot, as a matter of fact, they have arrested and cited several of these kids from that parking lot. I just wanted to say thank you to all of the King Police Dept. and thank you for keeping my family safe!

i think the king police department needs to stop hiring young, arrogant cops. they wear the badge like a crown and its not fun. i am 20 years old, and last year, myself and a couple friends were riding through king, completely sober, i dont even drink, and came up on a checkpoint...the arrogant cop (no names) hassled us for 10 minutes, no exaggeration, asking us if we had been drinking and all that blah blah blah. even tried to get us to get out of the car and blow. theres no point in that. he didnt smell alcohol, didnt see any containers, had no right to hassle us like that. its just the point where you have to realize if it was just me in the car, he probably would have just checked my license and let me go, just like he is supposed to do. he had no reasonable cause to question us about alcohol. just my two cents on the KPD.

Like it or not, King has had the rep of drug/alcohol use by young people for many years, which indicates this little cross road bedroom city is no different from most in the peidmont.

Ok I understand you are upset about your kid but come on do we really need more road blocks? The King Police is NOT the answer to your problem! Your teen is in trouble yes but you have to put the blame where it needs to be .... on her! You can't blame the area you live, this "shop" place or the local police for what your kid is doing! This behavior is why we have the problems we do in our country, no one wants to accept responsability and no one wants to admit that their kid does any wrong!
