As a former City of King Emergency Services employee, I uphold our City Council's decision to impose the curfew this past February. Streets were unsafe, power lines and trees were falling causing hazardous conditions, our Police and Fire Department personnel were working around the clock to assure safety. Additional people on the streets, especially if they did not need to be out, causes additional emergencies. Hazardous conditions mixed with alcohol can only create problems. I also thank the citizens who wisely chose to stay indoors in the safety of their homes, curfew or not.
