God is worth fighting for. He gave His son for us, the least we can do is to show the world that we believe what He has done and why He has done it. Too bad those who say they are christians do not have the guts to stnad up for HIm as He does for us>

"removing the flag is a disgrace to veterans who fought and died to fly it"
OK, that had to be the most disgusting thing I have heard or read about the flag issue in King.
The Veterans took an oath to uphold the constitution of the United States of America. Not one single veteran took an oath to fly the Christian flag. Not all veterans are Christians! Get over it. The King city council finally started holding the their oath of office (they also took an oath to hold uphold the constitution) when they removed the flag of one particular religion.

The soldiers fought to fly the Christian flag? In Iraq, Afghanistan... That is where they want the flag flown? The soldiers took an oath to uphold the Constitution, not the Christian flag. Christian rights are not being taken away, but allowing the flag of one religion to fly is taking away the rights of all other religions or non-religions.

The issus that we have at hand is this... The oath that was taken by the Military Veterans was to fight for America. Now, America is a very diverse country... A country that not only do Christians reside, but Jewish, Islamic, Agnostic, Athiest, Rastafari, Protistant, etc resides as well... To fly this flag at a Memorial Park such as the one in King doesn't represent all that those Vets fought for. You're leaving out every other religion that America provides a home for. Looking at this on a Religious standpoint brings forth a question... First of all, I Am A Christian. Ok so with that being said, let's carry on... Jesus was the son of God, and WE ALL are brothers and sisters in Christ, How do we look in the eyes of our lord? Does this really look Christ-Like? Please do remember "He who is without sin, may he cast the first stone" I've been called Anti-Christ like so many times within the last week that it's sad. But, the question is this... How can I be Anti-Christian, when all I'm trying to be is Christ Like???? I stand for EVERYONE. No Matter The Religion! Don't you think that's what Jesus want's us all to do?

By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, 2 Cor 6:7 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. 2 Cor 10:3-6 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Eph 6:10-17 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 1 Tim 6:12

You either stand with the Truth of God as your weapon or lose this Nation Under God that our forefathers gave us. We are headed for a Totalitarian government. Is that what you want for your children? Or worst, that they be lost and without GOD.

"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 3

"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." Matt 10:32-33

First if you do not live in King and you have not totally educated yourself about this then maybe you should get educated about it before you spout off things that just make the situation worse...second when our soldiers take the oath the last word they utter are so help me God...third read the constitution and take it the way its meant and not by the twisted version that our courts and such have made it into...christian rights are being taken away if you don't see that then you have a biased opinion that would only be stirred if your rights were taken away...its not just about a flag its stopping all the yuk from overtaking our world and if you are an american whether you are christian or not you are just as responsible for the downfall of this country...maybe then you should go out and feed the hungry and try to give others hope by being a positive influence instead of constantly spewing hate...no one is forcing you to agree, if you dont like it then dont look at it dont go to church dont do anything to be a solution that is your choice just as it is my choice to turn the channel or not listen to certain music etc. but "as for me and my house we shall serve the Lord" Joshua 24:15...it makes me sick to see and hear all the comments that do nothing but keep the problem brewing...its time for all americans to stand up and do the right things and stop allowing immorality destroy our country and our children. its time to stop being lazy and allowing the govt to overstep their boundaries...if you like your freedom...thank a vet...they do fight for God and country and if you dont appreciate them then man it truely is a sad day that people are so hateful...Praise God that guess what...the name of Jesus is on every ones mouth be it for him or against all..Get up and make a difference around you!!!

The bigots of King have turned the VETERANS memorial into a chrisitan memorial. Its not about the veterans anymore, its about that d@mn christian flag.

I fought and served in Desert Storm. I did not fight for the christian flag, I fought for AMERICA.

I hope the city council makes the decision to end this futile effort and NOT put the flag back up.

The ignorance is amazing.
I, like so many, served to support our constitution. There is NO religion mentioned in the constitution. There IS a specific reference to a Separation of church and state!
I do not care what you believe, but I respect and I defended your right to believe it 100%.
The fact that a vocal majority of the King community supports a Christian flag at a government facility in NO way makes it correct or legal.
If you demand that religions must be allowed to fly their flags on government property, then you must also completely agree that Jewish flags, Muslim flags, Buddhist flags, Witchcraft flags, Skinhead flags, Satanic flags, and Atheist flags should fly too, right?
Fly your flags at your home, at your church, at your private businesses, but leave my government alone!
No? Why not then? Why only what YOU believe? Don't be hypocrites.

QUOTING THE BIBLE;
In following the Bible, Don't forget to allow slavery, to allow polygamy, to allow genocide, to allow infanticide, and to encourage incest (how else would 2 people populate the earth? Please use your brain for a second.).
PLEASE believe as you see fit and practice what you preach. I will do the same.

As a resident of King and a believer in the teachings of Jesus Christ, I would like to say that I am also part of "We the people", and I do not say "fight". The intention of this post is not to start a heated debate, rather it is to point out that the entire population of King is not as passionate about having the flag put back up as is being reported. When I read or hear that the majority of our city wants the flag back up, I question the accuracy of that statistic. I know that there are MANY residents of our city who are Christians and support the Separation of Church and State.(Yes, this is possible)

I am not "afraid" to verbalize my opinion, however I am well aware of the harsh and critical judgement that is passed on those who feel the way that I do. People flying the Christian flag on their own personal property or place of business is well within their "God given rights". But the government flying a flag of one particular religion is NOT. Fear is a powerful tool and it is certainly being used by many of the supporters of what is essentially the desire of our government to endorse a particular religion. In the same way that one might not want government involved in their church, the reverse is also. No one is being denied the right of their own PERSONAL expression of faith here. I am grateful for the sacrifices our veterans have made. Those sacrifices were made for ALL Americans, not just Christian Americans. They were made for (and BY) Americans that are Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Indian, Buddhist, or of no religious affiliation.

As for me, a piece of fabric is really not what it is all about. Nor do I believe that it would be for Christ. I believe that Christ would be more concerned about whether or not we are caring for a neighbor in need, a friend who is hurting, a child who is abused or hungry. If the amount of energy that was being put in to "fighting" for this flag to fly was given to these kinds of issues, imagine how "Christ-like" that would be. How about demonstrating what Christian love is all about to the world? What if those actions WERE the Christian flag?

Do you give all of your money to the poor? Jesus says you should give whatever is asked of you. I now ask you, good Christian, to give up all of your belongings as he says.
Also, on the way to your church, be sure to stop to feed and clothe the needy in your community, to treat the least of them as you would Jesus. Ring any bells?
Or, do you drive your car to a nice building with heat and air conditioning and wear nice clothes and sing hymns and be the perfect little hypocrite? Wouldn't it truly be the loving Christians who would feed and house dozens of people in need and who would invite them into this building that sits vacant 90% of the year? Get them educated. Care for their physical needs. Feed them. Clothe them. Show them love.
Nope, parking lots across King fill up on Sunday with HYPOCRITES like you who pretend to be Christ-like and fail miserably. Where does the Bible say to support a big building at the expense of supporting orphans and widows? Where does it say for certain men to stand elevated on a stage and pray? I think the Bible says quite the contrary. It specifically says to pray in private.
Put your congregation to the REAL work of taking care of your brothers and sisters in need, not those folks in suits who like to make themselves feel better once or twice a week.

I would like to give my support to all those fighting for the right to fly the Christian flag at the Veterans memorial in King. It makes me sick to know that just because one crybaby says flying the Christian flag is against his rights and demands it taken down, he gets what he wants but when hundreds of people say that taking it down is against their rights they run into a brickwall to get anything done and it turns into a legal issue. Who does crybaby think he is? If he is soooo upset about the situation WHY DON'T HE SHOW HIMSELF OR ALLOW HIS NAME BE RELEASED! Why didn't he just request a flag for his religion be added? When our country was founded God was an important part of our daily lives. In EVERY monument I recently visited in Washington, DC, God was made an inportant part of the memorial. In GOD We Trust or One Nation Under God is on every memorial somewhere. It's time we put God back into our country. It's time we go back to the 10 commandments. When God was more prominent in our lives we didn't have arguments or legal issues over what flag can be flown where. We didn't have kids taking guns to school. We didn't have bullying to the horrific extent we do today. If crybaby gets his way and the Christian flag is not allowed to be put back I hope I'm behind him in line for the pearly gates so I can hear his answer when St Peter asks what gave him the right to take away the rights of others to show support of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for saying what I have been thinking though this whole thing! I do believe that there is something called “Freedom of Religion” in the US. To those that don’t have a clue, this means you can believe in a rock if you like. While Christians may have the majority in the US, THERE ARE OTHER RELIGIONS! People of those religions also fought and died in the wars/conflicts that the US has been involved in. Yes, that means Christians fought next to Atheists and Pagans on the battlefields and bled that same blood. Christians didn’t get cooties nor have the other religions shoved down their throats, like I am sure Christianity was shoved down theirs.

If Christians don’t like the thought of other religions in the US, then they need to leave the country so we can continue to enjoy “Freedom of Religion”.

You are exactly right. Do these "fighters" realize how pathetic and stupid they seem to the rest of the nation? I guess ignorance is bliss, but it really is unfortunate for the fine men and women of King, N.C. to be portrayed as the ignorant country bumpkins that make the news in Boston, New York, and the world.
The media IS watching. They are watching people who have no idea what their very own constitution says making fools of themselves, and in the name of Christ of all things! How sad.

Keep your opinions and your religion to yourselves and out of the government (Hint: it's in the constitution.).

Reverend? Did man make you that? Jesus didn't. God Didn't. Is this a way of separating or elevating yourself from others? Do you have folks call you "father"? Is that what Jesus taught? No, of course not.

You are a man. No more or less than ANY man.

I, like so many in our area served my country and am behind our brave troops completely! Give them your support every day. Write your congressman about them. Find out the families in your neighborhood who have loved ones serving today and see how you can help them. Drop off a couple bags of groceries. Buy the kids some warm clothes. Let them know we are ALL proud of their family member serving in the military.
