Excuse meeeeeeeeeeeeee! I'm a veteran and I live, pay taxes and donated to the Memorial in King. I was not asked nor many other veterans I know were not asked. The City allowed a panel to decide what flags were to be placed on the Memorial, those are the FACTS. There was never a vote of ALL Veterans.
I wish you people would stop saying ALL VETERANS because not ALL VETERANS want that flag to fly above THEIR memorial. Not everyone that donated money was/is a Christian or a Veteran.
SO JUST STOP STATING IT AS IF IT WAS A FACT, IT'S NOT!
I go to church and worship my God and we have a different flag for our Christian God.
So stop trying to push yours on us.
To I was not asked.<quoted text>
Well apparently you were not on the Veteran memorial commitee, nor did you investigate before you donated money.(I am sure they will give you a refund if you take your donation receipt and ask for a refund). Why did you not voice your concern after it was revealed six years ago. AND why did you not voice your concern at the meeting they had on Monday? Not one person out of more than 500 opposed.
It is my understanding that Chriatian flag was in the design from the begininng. As for all Veterans- I did not say this I said local veterans, and the overwhelming public response bears witness that the majority of the local veterans represented here are Chriatian. My view is this: The Christian flag no more means every name under it is Christian any more than the POW flag means every name under it is or has been a prisoner of war. I agree whole heartily if you were somehow missinformed and wish a to have refund and your name removed form the monument this should be done for you.
