Too interesting. Now wasn't this gun stolen from Lt. Blevins Jr. car? How exactly has the department handled this situation? How does one make 21 "undercover" purchases without the police having a handle on who they are investigating? And let's be frank here, the kid that did the crime, well, he has a very questionable history to begin with, so why would they even use him for such an investigation? Questions, questions and more questions. CBPD is a shambles, lacking true leadership and direction, with a extremely questionable issue of nepotism at hand. The overrated and under-qualified see another day...embarrassing.

and I do understand, by the way, that CBPD didn't run this investigation, that in fact it was the VSP and WCSO. However, if CBPD had a proper policy in place for securing patrol vehicles and firearms, much, if not all of this, would have been prevented.

ROFLMAO We really are a HICK TOWN.
CBPD should just stick to giving little ole ladies speeding tickets, 26 in a 25 zone.
We woulld win on funniest videos, for a guy buying fake drugs with real tax payers money, talking to himself.

Truely amazing. What in the world are we here in the town waiting for before we let the sheriff's office take this present fiasco over.

You see what the department/chief does--promotes his son to lieutenant after his sons police rifle gets stolen from his police cruiser

You need to be glad he never went to Phils web site and found the secret of the carbon mike :)
He'd still be running that scam today :) From 67/477 your PD looks ok to me. Your subjects are too divided on too close a scale for any normal discourse of anythin political :)

Ok read the Free Lance article what I'm interested in is just how the gun was stolen and how much town, state and federal funds were spent to get it back.

According to the Blevins the drug task force stole the weapon and planted in the woods to make JR look bad.

The original statement was "The gun was found in the woods". AFTER 10 cycles.... That's what you could expect to come out of the hopper :)(or after 1 cycle through the anti PD machine)
Now if you have a written statement or taped statement reveal it. It would still make a good comedy sketch :)

Where is Frank Delano or even Betsy Ficklin when you want true articles. Local papers now take the easy way out or lazy whichever. Can't blame totally the Council, they gave supervision to the Town Manager. Seems a lot of mismanagement centers around that position and Council is to new, to unorganized,to afraid to ask questions on the record to correct the problems.

Council members had to file a FOIA request to get information from the Town Manager - that's just sad. I don't know why they put up with it.
