Morning all, I was in Colonial Beach and figured I would stop at a place I heard allot about for breakfast, Ola's. Well what a disappointment! The place smelled very bad. There seems to be a serious mold and mildew problem. Has the city checked this out? There has to be a problem. The food nor the service was nothing special. I guess next time, I'll stop at Mickey De for breakfast.

Please Do.....first off your from OOT, most people from here and myself LOVE the friendlyness, homemade food (unlike MD), it's a place (excuse the pun) that most people know your name, I Love the smell of bacon cooking at 7 am, when not visitng Olas, just the smell filling my car or GOLF cart makes my morning that much better. It might take awhile to get your food, but you are in the mist of great company, great conversation and everyone is involved. So Please go to Mickye D's where they are lackless, slow for no reason and just as expensive but for frozen food with non personal interaction. OLAS... I appreciate you!!! OR better yet, don't come back.:-)

Every small town should have an Olas. This restaurant is an icon much like Parker's was until it was torn down. I go there many times during each week. Know all the staff and many of the patrons. The Sunday special is my favorite of the week, and I'm not going to tell what it is. Ginny is friendly with everyone. It may not be triple A, but it definitely has heart and good food. This is the only place I know where a patron would get up three times during his meal to give his table to someone else because their party was larger.

Ola's is the heart and soul of any small town.
Good food, fixed fresh while you wait, and a gathering place for many friends and neighbors.

Olas is great, their hash browns are the best and they cook your eggs just right.

Just had another great meal at Ola's Country Kitchen. The server was as sweet as ever and the hamburger steak and potato salad - delicious! The place is not upscale by any means, however, the staff is so friendly and the food is off the charts. Can't wait until breakfast!!!

I agree Dradats, I too was very worried about eating there once we sat down for breakfast, first off the waitress really didn't welcome us to the dinner she had on a dirty shirt and her hair was very grease the place looked filthy, dated and needed cleaning. I can't even imagine what the kitchen looks like I tried not thinking about it while I tried to eatimg that filth. My kids even didn't want to finish there meal. We paid our bill with no tip and left. We won't even try lennys that place looks just as bad. PS bring your own food down for the weekends.

Dradots, I take it you are an out of towner. As some of the followers stated this is a little hometown resturant. The owner is very friendly and is a local girl who took over her mother's business. Maybe you should stop and think before you shoot off at the mouth. How would you like it if we came to your hometown and put something like this on your local topix page.
If you did not like eating at Ola's or Lenny's, you should have tried the Mother's Day Breakfast all you could eat for $8.00 at the local CBVFD on Sunday morning. They had good food plus it is a donation to the VOLUNTEER fire department. Where did you say you were from maybe I will visit there.

My hat's off to the cook for the ham and cabbage dinner this evening. What an awesome meal at a fair price. The waitress was wonderful and I will go back again later in the week if I can. Did I mention the homemade bread pudding? It was worth the extra calories. A friend had dinner at Ledo's and said it was also good. Plenty of places to chose from or pull the grill out and cook something at home.

Prices up again, not sure if my social security can take another hit what with the tax increase that's coming too, but I do love the food. May have to just cut out one night.

Maybe? Somebody is whining for another "new" car. If he shows up with another one I'm done w/Olas for good...

Geeez zzz folks! For the ones who don't like olas and Lenny's. Stay home and cook or go to a corporate chain.. Both places are good. Guess some folks don't like fresh food. Just pop your food in a microwave and go or let the corporate chain throw the bag in boiling water and Bam! Your food is done. Get a grip. Not every place you are going like. Get over it!
