To set the record straight. The intersection is dangerous. My car was going 40 mph in a 45 mph zone when I was hit and knocked head on into a truck. And yes, I will continue to fight for a stop light to protect others from getting hurt, maybe even you. You should not assume 10 mph if you were not there on that day. Look in the newspaper at the picture of my totaled car and then ask yourself if 10 mph could do that kind of damage. Just so you know some more facts. Everyone has a right to feel safe on a public highway.
so explain again how a stop light would have prevented your accident in a way that a stop sign cant. Please save all the I almost died stuff for the folks who are in ICU wards around the country.

Had you been traveling at the posted speed limit of 45 instead of going 40, you would have avoided the accident altogether!

Please take the "Beach" out of this equation. This intersection is not in town, nor does this lady live in town. Only when you pay town taxes can you claim that you live in the Beach.

The intersection is in the zip code that is defined as Colonial Beach. That is a form of geographic identification. Looking at it, you guys have a LARGE footprint :) with MANY foots :)

Are you a come-here?? Mrs. Staples family has been in the area for longer than most... she has "lived" in the town, and over the last 50 years has paid more town taxes than most. If she shops in the Beach she is paying taxes that go towards the town...

so how is her stop light going to prevent what happened that the stop sign and flashing yellow lights did not do..........it was driver error and no amount of warnings and lights make anything idiot proof

Maybe we shouldn't have stop lights at all.. maybe public safety is overrated. Hell, let's get rid of cops... make the speed limit 100mph, or whatever you'd like.
Besides, my comments were directed towards the person who said Ms. Staples shouldn't comment because she doesn't live in town, nor pay town taxes. I personally think that stoplights at both intersections would cut down on accidents. You're not going to prevent all accidents, but reducing them is a great thing.

A traffic light is not going to stop you from getting rear ended.

People, I moved here 5 years ago from very far away. You all need additional driver training. This place has the most horrible drivers I have ever seen. I've been nearly hit head on at least once a day by a driver coming across the center line, I've been run off the road by people not stopping at intersections and have been chased down (which has resulted in their arrest) when I passed in a passing zone.

The fact of the matter is, your driving skills are very much lackluster and you need remedial driver training.

Very far away? What Planet?

If you're nearly getting hit, head on, at least once a day, maybe it's you?

It kinda sounds like YOU are an agressive driver and maybe you're pissing some people off?

Just wondering.

Btw: As for your little "planet" quip.

Your screen name, "Algernon" comes from the "Treaty of Algernon" signed by two parties in the TV series "Star Trek", making you a space cadet in douche bag form.

And how do you offend oncoming traffic? Please inform me of the impossible. Moron.

Ooh. Aren't you so smart.

Not everyone has read every speculative fiction book, so no, I haven't read it. I have better things to do, like live.

I assume you live in CB, since you likely have no job and spend all of your time reading short stories to use as ammunition against the more productive people in society. So you can look smart, somewhat.

Sounds to me if you are so close to getting hit and run off the road every day, you need to stay home and off the roads. What roads around the Colonial Beach area is this happening to you on the regular basis?? Maybe you need to report these roads to the police to have them patrolled more.

As for this post and every other one I have seen by you - If you thing so little of this area and the people who live here, why do you stay?? You have nothing good or nice to say. In all of your posts you are trying to put people down or belittle them. Do you think that make you sound smarter than others or a notch above them?? Let me be the one to inform you - IT DOES NOT!!! Makes you sound like a Bitter Old Fart that hates everyone and everything around them and just wants to bring everyone else down!!!

Pick One:
1) Get A Life
2) Grow Up
3) Find a job that makes you happy
4) Move
5) All the above

1) Get A Life

3) Find a job that makes you happy
4) Move
5) All the above
Here's some options you have:
1) STFU
2) learn how to drive
3) move so that others can make the place better
4) stop being a douche

Get it?

I have a life, a far better one than I'd like to elaborate, I am also very content in my career and yes, I do attempt to put losers down because 1) they are lying, spreading BS wherever they are 2) they have no driver skills and need a stop light in a rural area. Bitter isn't the word. Most of the people here drive like shit, and need remedial driver training. Plain and simple. Don't believe me? Take a trip down Pomona ave. and look at all the car parts in the ditch from single car accidents.

Honestly, there are quite a few here that are full of shit and need to be brought down a notch.

I wish, Arizona or New Mexico would have been nice and I probably would have stayed, instead of coming to his cess-pool.
