Why does the water coming out of the faucet smell like rotten eggs in this town? What the Heck?

has the water not bin used in long time ,if so the smell will go away in a day or so. The longer you use it the smell will go away.

Check with the Health Department - they had a recent inspection with nearly 3 pages of violations.

electric water heaters beginning ten years ago or more have electrodes that will produce the rotten egg smell if not used for a while. Run the hot water until no longer hot or drain the hot water heater.

I challenge the Council Budget Committee to do a full review of how the citizen's money is being spent. This includes manager's salaries, outside contracts and the bidding process, promotions/raises, etc. Things are way out of whack. They need to take their responsibilities seriously instead of taking the word of one person - Val Foulds. And don't give me any BS about the audit coming out clean - that just means they balanced the books and followed the law. It doesn't mean that the town is being operated in an efficient and effective manner.

I usually cringe at post like this put out in the all the public to see, but I'm going to agree..out loud! I know people need jobs and need to work to make a living, but I have to wonder when I see a vacuum truck going thru town vacuuming the newly dug storm gutters. Did I miss the memo about this? If the gullys had of actually been trenched on my road at the lower end of the Point, I may have raked my leaves right on in there to give them something to vacuum out. Now please understand, I do appreciate the effort to keep the storm drains cleaned out, so please don't stop, but maybe do a drive by to see if the expense is necessary at the time scheduled. If there's a contract with the company with no certain schedule, my apologies because maintenance such as this is long overdue (it would have been great if the section of my road was included in the overhall storm gutter project, yes I called).

Here's a better idea, produce documentation that shows "out of wack" and other mis-managemeent. Then you challange people to a task,(It's called makng a case)that very well may be a trip down the rabbit hole. Gather some friends, do a FOIA for budget detail papers, document valid concerns and then issue your challenge.(Do nt procede in MY order, you might have to feed your friends for awhile :) I believe I have seen salaries discussed previously and no one found excessive compensation. I could be wrong and I am sure someone will rise to the top with conflicting info if I am :)

go out and talk to PW employees and ask them to put paystubbs out on the table. the ones you won't see are the ones grossly overpaid. there it will be in black and white

You so right. Most of those guys make barely above minimum wage. Then you have 3 managers at PW who make nearly $200,000 between them, for managing 10-15 people. Why does it take 3 managers? It's not because they need night and weekend coverage, as all 3 work the same hours - Mon.- Fri. 7:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.

I guess I need to ask where do I apply for the PW position I am very interested and will work for $ 52,000.00 a year plus Health Insurance I will clean this town up Abby do you still have my resume ?
