John G,

Often, I like your ideas.

I disagree with you fully on this.

Senior Leaders are superior in almost every single category outside of physical fitness.

Older Generals lead the armies of the world not the youth.

Agree with Drifter about John Gray. He is arrogant and thinks he is smarter than everyone else. He may be successful, but he is a pessimist. He has nothing good to say about most subjects concerning Colonial Beach. I don't know why he is still here if he feels so antagonistic about this town and most of the people, Since he is so successful and wealthy, selling hiis home should not be an issue.

I love the responses to this thread. Whenever someone posts the problems plaguing CB, they are met with "so change it" or "get the F out" by either the long standing residents or some ghetto clown who won't do anything themselves to fix the problems since they are likely part of it.

I also find it hilarious that rentals go up for rent, are rented after a couple of weeks on the market, and 4-5 months later are up for rent again. I understand that there is a military component that adds to this "turnover", but I think the fact of the matter is that people come here thinking it's not going to be too bad, take about a month to go out and experience it, but then leave after being encountered by mass rudeness, hearing constant bitching in establishments and whining, crying blah blah blah.

My opinion, fuck this town. I've never seen a town's residents so hell bent on making a place WORSE to live every year. It seems like it has an annual requirement to top itself with bullshit. Virginia sould make it the first "section 8 city".

Seems to me u have to love where u live to want to change it for the better.
I believe we have council people now who r trying to work together and better our town.
They need time to make changes. Everything needs to b checked out and verified.
Y not stop complaining and give them a chance?
Cb drifter, u have optimistic posts which r needed here to over rider the negative Ned's!

I am from Colonial Beach and get really ticked off when people ask me "where ya from?" and I proudly say colonial beach and they give me this look. Every town, county etc has their issues, colonial beach has it's highs and lows you have some seniors not all complain about the noise and crime an young people etc. Then you have some younger people complaining about seniors and them bitching about them. Yes this town seemed mostly retired living when I moved there, but it seems younger couples want to build and move there to raise their families in this town, which helps with many things. Your going to have crime, issues and disagreements in every town, only thing I can tell you if you dont like where you live? Then pack up and move out! I had to move but do plan on coming back home as soon as I can.

Wow, quite the list. I hope she has her house for sale. She brings to light the typical "list" of issues, but #16 boggles my mind. Seafood???!!?? We have awful seafood??!! Steamed crabs and some fried catfish, both caught locally are awesome. I second everyone else's sentiments....please leave.
You all tell everyone to leave like you don't need us. How are you all gonna survive your golden years with no tax money and school funds to support you. That's right, i said it. And yes, your seafood sucks...had much better in Charles County...you know...that place where you actually see your tax dollars being spent well. Colonial Beach will never be anything more than a tourist trap...so long as people like you live here and run the place.

Really? You sound like the dumbest one of them all. The children should be the future yet CB has the worst schools I've EVER seen. Kudos to you though, you sound so stupid.

I really looked forward to living here... and would honestly still like to, but, there is so much potential for this town and it's being flushed right down the toilet...maybe some of you that hate on the younger generations should do us a favor and jump in that toilet with all the sh*t and help make this place better. Just saying.
