Whether your swimming wading or anywhere near the river beware when coming within feet of the water. Was sitting on the edge of my waterfront pier and had my feed dangling just above the water when i heard a splash and felt something slam into my calf. The pain was instant and as i looked down i had about a 2 foot Snakehead latch on. After a visit to the er the proper shots and 47 stitches im back home but in pain. So just be careful when around the water this year.

For more info on snakeheads: http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing/snakehea... . It does say in here that the snakeheads are not known to attack humans or even small pets. The real problem is to the ecosystem.

I had one latch onto my pecker while swimming in front of the town pier. It took me an hour to beat it off!
