Governor willing to put brakes on license plate plan

On the eve of County Clerks headed to Albany to protest the new mandatory state license plates, Governor Paterson has issued a press release saying he will back off that if the Legislature comes up with better ideas before he presents his Executive Budget.

I see nothing happening when the Senate meets again on Monday the 16th..They have a record of doing nothing and I do not see it being broken. We suffer and they party. God Bless the State Of New York.

WE people of New York State need to put the breaks on all our politicians at election time. All those in office NOW need to go!!!! WE NEED TO GET TOGEATHER AND SEND ALL OF THEM A MESSAGE THEY WILL UNDERSTAND. WE ARE OVER TAXED AND POORLY RUN. WE NEED CHANGE IN THIS STATE

I'm glad I may not have to put that ugly new plate on my car. But we all know we will pay for this somehow. It isn't like they will ever agree to take the money out of their fat paychecks.

You almost have to feel sorry for the governor. He's such a screw-up that everything he touches turns to mud. I have to think that inspite of all his re-election talk that he's as anxious to get his term over as we are. Its just one embarrassment after another.

get the state police off their buts and issue more traffic tickets. Forget about the point system, just collect the revenue. Cell phones, seat belts, etc. Start hitting the city's, you will catch alot there.

industry brings jobs, this is more important than a new plate. look around alot of work has left the state, along with the unemployed.

one way or another we are going to pay for the budget gap..it may be license plates or soda tax or who knows what..but we WILL be paying for it..
