Unlike the lady from Lamar CO, I do live in Stone County Missouri and my family will be affected if this passes a vote. Today the county commissioners both (2 of them) voted to accept the Master Plan proposal before they even asked for any input from voters there to voice their opinions. The proposed laws that will go into effect if this passes on Aug 4th are for 1st class counties (namely Greene County, MO) and have been ammended to say Stone County. We are a 3rd class county. This information alone should be enough to make a voter think twice about voting yes. But if that's not enough.... check out the information below here and then tell me we need P&Z in Stone County MO. I think NOT!!!
#VOTE “NO” Aug 4th Planning & Zoning “Master Plan” They can't currently.....(Per a COURT ORDER dated 12/31/2008) * Issue any permits or take in any money for P&Z services * Tell you what to do with your property. * Tell you what you can and cannot build. They are.....(Per the COUNTY COMMISSION support) * Driving county vehicles * Using taxpayer dollars to fill those vehicles with county gas * Suggestively telling citizens how to use their property * Getting a paycheck every two weeks * Using taxpayer dollars for cell phones, electric, phones, offices, computers... They will.....(IF YOU VOTE to RE-INSTATE Planning & Zoning) * Control what can be in your driveway * Control what you do on your land * Control what is in your home and your yard * Control what is in your garage and your barn * Control everything they can for a "small fee" Scare Tactics by those who want to keep P&Z claim that: *BAD - Development: Look at Indian Ridge subdivision on 76 hwy east of Branson West. There’s a good example of what Planning & Zoning can do for the residential areas in our county. *BAD - Water Quality - That’s why we have a County Health Department and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (all of whose standards are higher than the proposed P&Z regulations) *BAD - Bars, strip club(s) Adult Entertainment stores: In the past thirty years 10 bars and the one adult club in the county are all out of business. Bar’s are regulated by “State Issued Permit” and regulations. Those Unaffected by P&Z are their biggest supporters: The five ads in last weeks paper(s) were supported and paid for by residents of Stone County who, it has been confirmed, live inside city limits and/or subdivisions. Of course they are voting yes, P&Z rules WILL NOT AFFECT THEM! Tell your neighbors, friends, and yes, even your enemies about P&Z. The time to stand up and say “NO” is NOW!!! VOTE “NO” Aug 4th Planning & Zoning “Master Plan”

I live in rural Stone County and want to thank everyone who live within the various city limits of the county for imposing another government agency to "look after" me. P&Z affects those in the county and should have been decided on by those in the county. I don't get to vote on issues in cities that are contained in my county, but I have to abide by votes cast by those who live in the cities as to how my country life should be ran.
The only strip club in Stone County was opened under the watchful eyes of our P&Z.
If the Corps of Engineers take care of Table Rock Lake, The State of Missouri takes care of the rivers and streams, the Health Department takes care of the wells, and the DNR takes care of under ground water--what will P&Z do to protect my water quality? It is already taken care of.
Barry County doesn't have P&Z; their water is just as pure, no strip clubs, no waste land from unregulated poultry farms....huh! Seems the voters were duped again.
Why do people move here to retire and get away from big cities and other states to enjoy the low cost of living, only to vote in the same bureaucracies that made their original homes so expensive to live in, in the first place?

Any time I can go out of my way to make your living expenses increase---and it doesn't affect me in the least; let me know and I will return the favor.

THE ONLY THING I SEE IN THE DOCKET IS THE COUNTY NEEDS TO ESTABLISH A ZONING MAP!!!!!!! Yes, that is why they had to "SHUT DOWN" now you explain to me why they felt the need to re-write the regs and add a bunch of un-need junk.
At least I have the guts to let people know who I am and where I stand. It's called FREEDOM OF CHOICE!

shut down where is that in the court docket?? they were closed one day under advise from b.m.!!! cant you see that your "good friends" might just be using you to be their voice?? from talking with the office the county had outgrown the regs from 1995 the admin had ask for revisions for 4 years the money was put in the budget on 08 but pulled out so no revisions were done thats what i was told for the reason of reg changes. So now tell me what problem you had with building your house?? THE OLD REGS THAT I LOOKED AT IN THE OFFICE ALSO HAS UN-NEEDED JUNK!!! I CAN UNDERSTAND SOME CONCERNS BUT>>> NOT ALL OF THEM ARE TRUE.. AND I HAVE DONE SOME DIGGING TO SEE WHICH WAY I WANTED TO GO WITH THIS AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT HELP FROM THE OFFICE STAFF...

Some people don't like being told what they can or can't do with their house or yard. These same people would scream bloody murder if I desided to build the county dump next door to them. Maby I will build a strip bar next door to the school their children atend. We have to give in order to receive. If you own a nice piece of property and want to keep it that way you need Planning and Zoning. Planning and Zoning is here to protect our property values. Keep our Children safe. In order to keep Stone County going forward you nee to turn over the November Ballot and vote to keep Stone County P&Z. Thank hard about this. It is very important to all residents of Stone County.
