As a former resident i have come te the conclusion that Kimberling city is just a dead town and rotten place to live and raise kids. there is nothing to do. Even in branson unless you are eighty years old and you think watching hillbillys on stage is a good time. there is really nowhere decent to work with much chance of advancement unless you drive to springfield and even them no guarantee of finding anything. hell, even the cars around thei close at 11. And there is really nothing for young kids. The people living there are not tourists and cannot afford the attractions all the time even with free passes or locals deals. Nothing is ever truly free. could be reason why stone county has such a problem with drugs. give the people something else to occupy them!!!

You have got that right and honestly, I lived there in the later 60's and it was the same then...the only way you are going to find out what life really has to offer is to get out of there any way possible. The people who live there and always did think they love it but they just don't know. Good luck kiddo, I hope you make it out of there and onto life.

I can' believe what I am reading..My sister and her family along with my mother moved there over a year ago and absolutely love everything about living there. They are just happy fishing and going out on the pontoon boat. Think they go in town when they have company but they just love the country feel of living there.

Can't say I would care to drive 30 minutes to get to just about any place but they sure seem to love it and don't mind the drive.

I have lived in Kimberling City for about five years now. I love it. There is lots to do if you enjoy being outside. Every road you turn down has a lake. I love it

I grew up in Shell Knob. The lake was a second home. I miss it. Great place to grow up.

This town is nothing more than a speed trap. Soon this town will be broke from running off tourist and maybe we'll have less cops. If that happens, you might see a few new faces. Or they could get more cops & more checkpoints and run off the few who do live here

Well, "the future" person seems to be determined to pound down Kimberly City and the surrounding area. Every location in the world has good things and bad things. And, if you are bored, it means you have the ability and motivation to do things if you try. Small town living means you need to develop your own entertainment - and that takes imagination and willingness to try new things. "Things to do" means you don't have to try, and small towns are attractive for raising families just because the community is tight knit and knows your business and who, how, what and when about you.

Get over it. Find a new job and move.

We can't wait to get moved! We are just trying to do this right this time. Can't wait to get involved in the Kimberling City Life. We enjoy golfing, fishing and walking/jogging, camping and just being outdoors. I love Kimberling City!
