Perhaps you should change your handle to “stupid” although I hope “ignorant” might better fit. Ignorance can be addressed through education, stupidity lasts forever. Leading off with the fact that I am not a big fan of many of the local police officers and deputies I am aware of that most do as good a job as their leadership and the taxpayers allow. Now, to my response: Several things give me pause when I see such a visceral reaction as you put forth. You likely have never known anyone who is or has been in law enforcement. The officer driving that patrol car probably has a wife (or husband) and one or two kids. If not they are someone’s son or daughter. If they are drawn into a pursuit by an individual who refuses to stop and the chase escalates into a suspect using a vehicle as a weapon, then the officer’s life is being threatened. During your career has anyone ever pointed a loaded weapon at you or attempted to purposely run you off the road? It is highly doubtful that unless you are a convenience store clerk or a taxi driver you can honestly answer yes.
In addition, the County does not have an endless supply of vehicles at their disposal. Should a vehicle be damaged and taken out of service that is one less available for officers to use when responding to an emergency. There are times when an officer is the first person on a scene where a life threatening even has taken place. It would be a tragedy if he or she is unable to respond to a call (perhaps at your residence or business) because of a lack of transportation because some idiot disabled a patrol car.
Must I also point out that there the patrol cars cost the taxpaying citizens money? If a suspect totals a patrol car, it will eventually need to be replaced. Unless you are part of that 49% who live off of other peoples hard work then it will eventually coat you dollars out of your pocket. If an officer is injured or killed then the taxpayer will be out additional money. Don’t tell me insurance will cover it. If a slimeball is stupid enough to run, I doubt he is smart enough to have insurance.

to "good" it would seem from first glance you are not fond of law enforcement, which would lead me to believe that you are probably not a contributing member of our society and therefore do not care about Colt57's comments about tax payers and holding jobs.
the article is johnny bryan and...
johnny bryan is a piece of S**T and I honestly hope he dies a very slow and painful death. he cries about his mommy being dead(hopefully it was painful for the whore) but is very willing to end another human life, therefore making a child cry about missing his mommy or daddy. he will be caught sooner or later

I paid in excess of 600k in federal tax last year. I was the victim of police perjury. I give more money in one year to charity than most people earn. I am highly educated and have seen deputies bully , sexually harass, and lie under oath in Taney county. I am also a veteran and dont want your thanks. If their was any justice then police perjury would be prosecuted . it is not in Taney county. It is my opinion that deputies who openly engage in sexual perversion, and advertise such on the internet should be fired. Any questions 47%

By the way Jonny Bryan is a human being, and if a Taney county Sheriffs deputy accused him of a crime I have to temper that with the fact they lie. I know nothing about his mother but you are a cur if you too know nothing. I think you are probably a deputy.

Just so you know. 1.4 million in the Stoned Co. case will not touch that case. Try X 20 maybe close but don't think those boys will settle at all. They want this case heard so the public knows what happened.

the real thing isnt money. What they want is payback. The police who lied, the informants who lied need to go to jail. Why dont these prosecutors enforce the law? Why do the police lie under oath with a smirk on their face and imunity. Why isnt Selby being investigated and put in prison? He is still attacking innocent people. The court system is a rigged up mess. The only way we can send a message is to attend jury duty and vote innocent on every single cas, until Selby , and all of these dishonest proseecutors resign, or arrest police who lie. Because now they lie every time. By the way why wont Taney county authorities record and use a stenorapher at preliminary hearings. This is where the easy perjury is happening. They then get false charges into the system and railroad honest citizens. The police are your enemy.

@DEFENDANT - Preliminary hearings aren't on the record... anywhere... by statute... the only exception is on murder cases.

So why do they swear them in? It is a joke, the system is set up that if they suspect a misdemeanor, they charge a felony. They then lie in court, to make you plead to the misdemeanor they want. This isnt how it should be. By the way many courts require all proceedings taped and transcribed. In civilized place the cops are mic up and every word they say on duty is recorded. Why not follow the cops around and catch them drnking on duty, visiting girlfriends and lying on reports?

appearently nobody has checked why this all got started. i do believe it was for mr. bryant stalking and threatening to do physical harm to another idividual. so yes less leave this piece of work alone. so did the caller lie about that on top of that he was found right outside the residence were the deputies responded to? or does his criminal history and actions lie? does the actions and threats he has made since this incident make the deputies liars?

all i have to say to everyone that is being ignorant and putting their personal feelings first, how about next election you run for sheriff, judge, commisoner, treasurer, mayor or whatever postition you want and then you can make the changes you want and be put under the microscope. also Drury and The Sheriff Association put on academies. you can spend about $7,000 of your own money and become a police offcier or sheriff deputy and then make a difference on how police officer's are looked at. you can move up the rank from just an officer to Chief of Police and make a difference.

if you cant man up and put forth the effort to make a change on something you think is worng please keep your mouth shut and live your life in miserary.

for the person who says he paid $600k in taxes i am calling your bluff. lets have a name so we can check facts on your statement. im going with you wont so when you are proven wrong the sheriff cant sue you for slander. you want to come here and hide beind a false name and put down people but you wont provide the proof to show that you are right and that is just being a coward and are no better then people that you are saying are corrupt.

We are not saints. What is your name I sat on a jury in Taney county last year and they caught a deputy in a lie. He did not know he was on a security cam. So they all went up to the judge did a bunch of whispering, then the prosecutor dismissed. That was it I was shocked because we all saw it and nothing happened to the deputy. Why wasn't he arrested.
